Jets players are off starting today and free to skip town over the bye week. But Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will be here in New Jersey, rehabbing his injured left hamstring.

"I can't go anywhere," Revis said today. "I think it's best for me to stay here, though, to get this knocked out and to get ready for the second half of the season."

Revis has played the last two weeks after missing two-and-a-half games with the injury. He has made progress and said he did not make the injury worse by playing in the Jets' 24-20 win against Denver yesterday.

After last week's Vikings game, Revis said his hamstring was so sore and "blown up," he wouldn't let the trainers and doctors touch it. But he said this week, they took him through the strength tests and drills after the game and determined the muscle was actually quite strong.

"I thought it was an encouraging thing the way he came out of that game," coach Rex Ryan said. "I think from a confidence standpoint, his improvement he made this week from the previous week was substantial. I thought he was able to finish on plays. He might not be 100 percent right now, but he's getting closer to it."

Revis was about 90 percent for the Broncos game, Ryan said. He admitted he wasn't in All-Pro form -- he gave up a touchdown to rookie Demaryius Thomas -- due to a combination of being injured and the after-effects of missing training camp with his hamstring injury.

"This year is different; it's different for me," Revis said. "All the stuff going on; the holdout, getting back here. I was working out, but we talked about this before -- it's different working out from being in football shape and from being in training camp for the game speed. ... I'm just working had to get 100 percent; when I get to 100 percent, I can go out there and play ball."

Ryan said TE Dustin Keller was scheduled to have an MRI on his wrist. He sustained the injury in the first half yesterday but finished out the game. LB David Harris "smashed" his nose, but did not break it, Ryan said.

Players are off this week and due to return Sunday night. Ryan said he reminded his team to be safe -- and about the Player Protect program.

Ryan said he will take a two-day trip with his family, and he will also be in Baltimore Saturday night for the reunion of the 2000 Ravens Super Bowl team

Now that's some top notch reporting right there. Who knew all along Revis was just out of camp because of his hamstring. That must've been the injury he suffered in OTAs.
