Maxman
Tyson thanks for posting this. Great info. I heard Mike Tomlin on the radio and he made a good point. If player safety is what the league is worried about, why did it take an injury to prompt this?

If player safety is what the league is worried about, why did it take an injury to prompt this? It's very simple. As the letter states, One of our highest priorities is player safety. I'll go so far as to say it's their second highest priority. I think the NFL's priorities are as follows: Profit: 99% Player Safety: 0.7% The Children: 0.3%

Sperm Edwards
The fine print: see? The NFL cares about you! And we'll care for you even more when you agree to play two extra games next year! The superbowl is eventually going to cease being the best team. Rather, it's going to be the least-injured team among those teams that didn't get out to too slow of a start. Still figuring a cumulative 1 preseason game played for most starters, the bowl will be game 23 for a wildcard team that makes it in and game 22 for those who got a week 1 bye. Teams struggle to stay mostly injury-free for 5-10 games. Now you're talking almost 2 dozen full games. Way too much, unless they start spreading the season over a 40-week span I guess.
