Coach of the Year

2. Rex Ryan, Jets -- Sure, he has the horses, but Ryan also has the bull's-eye plastered on his ample backside, and coaching while you're wearing that is no small feat. He talked his team up big, but so far it has backed up his brash words with an NFL-best 5-1 record and a five-game winning streak. The pressure was never greater than when 0-1 New York trailed visiting New England at halftime in Week 2, but since then, the Jets have been rolling.

I don't understand why LT is being considered for "comeback player of the year." What's he coming back from?

I'm surprised you dont get it considering how negative you were toward him calling him a washed up pusswah, much like me :D

I was wrong...very, very wrong about Tomlinson. I admit it. I'm holding out hope that his suckage will return sometime this season. :)

I still don't get it though. Comeback Players usually comeback from something other than sucking for a couple of years. You know - devastating injury, cancer, tragedy....something.

Well they can get the award for coming back performance wise. Drew Brees won the award in 2004 and not because of an injury or something, it was just a breakout performance for him after not playing well in previous years.

Didn't Brees have a shoulder injury which made the Chargers decide to go with Rivers full-time?

If the Fins go on a losing streak here he just might. Henne was very lucky the fins beat a crippled GB. The talk show hosts down here were calling for Chad all week

Which is a joke. We have a winning record, he has 7td 5int 1,200 yardsover 60% completion rate, and a QB rating of 85.

Other young Qb's

Joe Flacco 7td 6int 64% comp. 1,400 yards Qb rating 80

Mark Sanchez 9td 2int 58%comp 1,110 yards Qb rating 86

Matt Ryan 9td 4int 60% comp. 1,400 yards Qb rating 85

all very similar.

Ah, gotcha. That is typically how it works. Maybe its because he has so many naysayers and it was a HUGE fall from grace.

Dont know.

And I was very wrong too. And that crow tastes yummy!!!

From the article:

Comeback Player of the Year

1. E.J. Henderson, LB, Vikings -- You can come back from injury, ineffectiveness, irrelevancy or a voluntary/involuntary hiatus and win this award, but I don't know if anyone will ever return from a more gruesome looking setback than Henderson's broken femur last December in Arizona. That he's back playing and playing so well -- 37 combined tackles, two interceptions, one fumble forced, one fumble recovered -- is a remarkable accomplishment.

Not entirely true.

The way players get hurt in this league the odds point to the CBPOTY returning from an injury, but it is altogether possible that a player that falls from grace for multiple years returns to league leading form and wins the award too.

Who else could be considered this year?

On a side note Top 100 players on NFL NETwork has Brady at #21......and Pat's fans are pissed. LOL

He's good but not top 20 players of all time. Since Pat's fans love to throw out the 3 rings arguement why Brady is better than Manning, then Bradshaw with 4 rings should be ranked higher (#50) than Brady.

To recap - I hate Brady

Well the egg won it in 2008, didn't he?

In 2009 Tomlinson missed more games due to injury than Pennington did in 2007. Pennington got it precisely because he sucked the prior year, not because he missed a start due to injury.
