Remaining Schedule: How do we do?

My predicted result in bold:

vs. Green Bay 10/31 W --- Green Bay's health concerns + home crowd = Jets win.

@ Detroit 11/7 W --- The Lions have had bad luck in the early going, but can't steal this one. Talent wins out.

@ Cleveland 11/14 W --- Mangini trudges on to another L.

vs. Houston 11/21 L --- The Jets are going to lose a game they shouldn't at SOME point this season, this one makes sense.

vs. Cincinnati 11/25 W --- Jets eager to get back on the field on short rest, get easy W.

@ New England 12/6 L --- Can't expect to go 6-0 in the AFC East, can we?

vs. Miami 12/12 W --- Jets won't lose back-to-back divisional games, and Rex gets his promised sweep over the Dolphins.

@ Pittsburgh 12/19 L --- Toughest game on our schedule, Steelers take lead in homefield advantage race.

@ Chicago 12/26 W --- Cutler gets wrapped up all day, Jets wrap up division.

vs. Buffalo 1/2 W --- Good final opponent to face to earn win, # 2 seed, and bye.

Final Record: 12-4 (5-1 AFC East, 1st place, # 2 seed in AFC)

Who does Green Bay have left right now to beat us ?

Who does Green Bay have left right now to beat us ?

Aaron Rodgers, and our pass D isn't playing at the level it did last year. If we're going to lose games the remainder of this year, Green Bay wouldn't be the worst "wakeup call". It's non-conference, so it means the least.

I do not see that happening.

Our pass D has been struggling because Revis is not 100%. He will be coming of bye week and should be in the better condition than he has been last year. We will get better on pass D coming of a bye week.

Green Bay has no running game to speak of. And their offense is one dimensional. I think Green Bay is going to be a very one sided affair!

By law of averages we might end up losing one game. Maybe.

But i do not think its going to be against the Patsies!

Unless they plan on giving the win to the team who's won the most spectacular and shiny AFCe Divisional Championship Trophies over the last decade, I expect the Jets to sweep the Pats this year.

Sounds like the way people spoke of Denver and the JETS barely snuck out of there...

Listen I want the JETS to never lose a game, but being realistic I had to pick a couple of loses and the Pack was one of them in my mind.

Does not mean I think the JETS 100% lose that game.

Short week against a team we embarrassed twice at the end of last year = Easy win?

If we embarrassed them twice, once on the road in the postseason, it stands to reason we can do it again, short rest or not. We're simply a better team than the Bengals, and all the motivation in the world isn't going to get them a victory in our house.

Plus, that's the only game of the year I'm going to, so it had better be a W. ;)

One game at a time, fellas. Mangini and Favre were 8-3 with a bullet. And then the gun blew up in their hand.

That said, unless <occurrence that shall not be named>, the Jets should only get better as Revis gets healthier and Sanchez continues to put the pieces together. What I've come to love about Rex is that he'll adjust on the fly, whether it's something as small as a player matchup or something as big as re-writing their entire offensive philosophy during the Bye. After years of Mangini and Herm I almost forgot that coaches were allowed to make adjustments.

Based on the Jets histroical performance down the stretch, alot.

Historical performance means jack. Your crappy team never won anything until the Cheater came to town. If you want to look at history, then we can easily say we are going to the AFC championship game again this year, which is what you were complaining about with your comment. You're being a hypocrite here.

As much as you like to bring up about teams laying down for the Jets last year, Rex got the team to the Championship game last year, period. There's no reason to believe he can't accomplish the same thing this year, especially with an improved roster.

This. One game at a time, Jets fans should be all too familiar with choking down the stretch. All I know is, the Jets are on the bye and it gives them an extra week to prepare for a tough game against the Packers.

And I love the way Rex isnt a hard headed coach who thinks its always on execution. Thats what makes great coaches. Adjust to your players, the game and your opponent. Rex does that.

Especially as a Jets fan, you should totally know that is incorrect.

That's not incorrect. If it was, the Red Sox and the NY Rangers for example would never have won a championship in my lifetime (I hate the Sox by the way).

Let me ask you something, if a Jets fan (or any fan for that matter) told you the same thing when the Cheater came to town what would you have said? The Cheaters didn't have a winning history (tainted or not) at that point, and the Cheater was a failure in Cleveland. I'm sure you didn't say, well based on historical performance, we're not winning a championship.

As far as the Jets are concerned, we have only had 2 good coaches since Weeb - the Tuna and thus far Rex (Walt Michaels is debatable, but he was better at finding talent than he was a coach). There was no collapse under the Tuna, and thus far Rex has proven to be resilient and a winner. So unless he proves otherwise, there's no reason to expect a collapse.

But, but, but the Pats were in a Super Bowl in '85! And '96!

Hey, at least they won the AFC Championship.

The Pats are 5-1 in AFCCG's.

What's the Jets record in AFCCG's?

This is funny coming from a guy that always says winning the Super Bowl is all that matters. Congrats on your 5-straight 2nd-place finishes, you sound like a Bills fan.
