Maxman
He has been back for a few weeks now but we haven't seen what he is capable of. Still more drops than I think is normal for him and defintiely more fumbles. So the question is, when do you think he will emerge as the true #1 on this team and have a breakout game? SoFlaJets
I'm not sure he IS our #1 receiver Max-Braylon has been THE guy so far this year-even when Holmes is in the lineup-I haven't seen a lot of stuff to be overly impressed about with him, and this includes his pre season performances
hoping4ASuperBowl
I don't think Holmes has had enough time to get much of a rapport with sanchez yet. I do hope they click soon especially if we really are making a run in the playoffs. Were gonna need the SB MVP in critical situations

JiF
His fumbling problems concern me...he did it in preseason too. I dont recall him being careless with the ball in Pitt, but he makes me nervous for some reason every time he touches the ball. As far as not being himself in the offense, I got to imagine that would happen considering how long he was away from the team. The bye week should be good for him. Also, he returned for the 2 worst games that Sanchez has had since week 1. And one of those games was in a down pour. I'm confident he'll improve and find his place in the offense as the season progresses. He's just too damn good.

I'm not sure we'll ever see him be the true #1 you guys keep expecting. He wasn't really a true #1 in Steeler-land easily...Part of the reason they let him go is because they think Mike Wallace can bring to the table what Holmes brings to the table. This team's #1 WR is Edwards...or Keller even. I'd rank Holmes 3rd out of the 3 most talented pass catchers... I haven't seen a guy get more credit for doing nothing here since...Iunno...someone. Holmes is a good player, but man this board has been overrating the crap out of him. True #1 WRs don't almost get cut and instead get traded for a 5th. That play when he ran into Edwards was a joke...That's not something a true #1 does. He does have his talents and this offense will use those talents...but if you're expecting him to take over and dominate our passing game then enjoy that wait. I still think he's closer to this offense's Donte Stallworth than he is to being this offense's Randy Moss.

Oh, and by the way, if we're going with the character issue. I'd have to say that I don't recall Santonio Holmes beating up a 135 lb. guy outside a bar or turning his car into a killing machine the day after a gigantic win over the best team in the division over the last ten years. SenorGato
I guess it's Santonio's cock that had Ryan practically coming in his pants during training camp. Have you not noticed that any Jets player can make Ryan bust a nut? Who doesn't that guy think is great on this roster? It's not exactly like he kept his praise one sided and away from Braylon. Oh, and by the way, if we're going with the character issue. I'd have to say that I don't recall Santonio Holmes beating up a 135 lb. guy outside a bar or turning his car into a killing machine the day after a gigantic win over the best team in the division over the last ten years. Dude...to get caught for pot as a millionaire athlete is borderline retarded. On top of that to have his d*ck show up on the internet mere months later...It really doesn't reflect well. I know it's not quite as bad as driving drunk or punching some guy who weighs a # you just made up, but it's pretty f*cking retarded. I realize Santonio is everyone's boy here because he was anti-cheeseburger (and he must have been the only one restoring order there, surely!) and he won a Super Bowl MVP on another team, but let him actually do something here before you anoint him the chosen one. Seriously...any other guy and this board would be bashing the sh*t out of a guy who gets suspended for breaking the league's drug policy. Everyone likes weed, but if my job was testing me for the stuff and serious about punishing me for it...I wouldn't be smoking. Holmes is not some f*ckin angel that the Steelers sent to us...they don't just randomly let talent go like that...unlike fans who need nothing but a whim to do something the Steelers are an organization that consistently has shown they put thought into personnel. Yeah, let's put all of our eggs in the Braylon Edwards basket and pray he remembers that you can actually call a car to take you home instead of driving drunk. Just because the Jets have won despite the distraction, doesn't mean they're betting their money on the Wheel of Braylon.

MasonJet
The guy just hasn't played enough to really be judged yet. I think Edwards is more of a true #1 because of his size, but it's definitely too early to decide which one should be kept, assuming we do have to make that decision. I see Holmes having some big games over the next few weeks, and he's got the kind of blazing (lol) speed that nobody else on our offense has. That will help us win a game or two. Lebron has no actual incentive to give his friend's true weight, and it'd be pretty gay if he knew it to the number. While I'm sure his friend was enjoying a quiet meal with a lady or his family, I find it hard to believe that Edwards would just randomly punch some little sh*t who thinks he's big sh*t because he's got a big friend. OTOH, dick on the internet and getting caught and then suspended for weed...well that takes work by Holmes himself to get there. It is clear that Braylon Edwards is an absolute moron. He can't even control the impulse to do the Braylon Dance when he KNOWS it can cost his team and when he HAS ALREADY ****ED UP by driving drunk after a huge win. He clearly is not aware of his situation or propriety or any sort of respect for is teammates and organization. And by the way, Pothead/Coolguy, dumby is spelled "dummy". It doesn't rhyme with gumby.
