flgreen
Oct 25th Pittsburgh loses Aaron Smith AUTHOR: Marc A. Greenberg | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet | After a tough and controversial 23-22 victory at Miami on Sunday, the Steelers suffered a potentially greater loss. Aaron Smith, the Steelers’ best defensive lineman and arguably the NFL’s top 3-4 defensive end over the past decade, left the game early in the second half with what is believed to be a torn triceps. The injury will likely end his season, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This will mark the third time in the last four years that the now-34-year-old Smith suffered a career-ending injury during the season. In the other two seasons (2007, 2009), the normally tough Pittsburgh defense was nowhere near as formidable without Smith and essentially collapsed down the stretch of both seasons. The Jets visit Pittsburgh Dec. 19.

JiF
Man, that hurts. Dude is a beast. That DL makes those LB'ers go. They are deep though. They can move Hoke around and Hood can play too.

They have been unimpressive all year! The Cleveland Browns? I mean seriously? Thats like a HS football team. Oh yea and btw- Drew Brees threw 4 Ints...can you imagine the uproar of panic if Sanchez did that? hahahaha I know Brees has solidified himself but still I cant even imagine, people would be calling for his head and talking about how the Jets season is over. There was more of an uproar that Sanchez threw 2 in a WIN then him throwing 4 in a loss.
SenorGato
Since they've been losing him in recent years I hear that Smith is the real key to that D. While he's a beast and a trooper, I get the feeling the Steelers are more prepared this time.
