dbatesman
Ryan said Calvin Pace, who missed the first four games after having surgery on a broken bone in his foot, is not at 100 percent yet. Calvin agreed: “I’m good, man. I don’t think I can come here and tell you guys I’m 100 percent but, um, I feel good, the time away was good for me. I feel good, more so mentally, just to get away, just get refreshed man, not look at any football.” SLOUCH.

Boozer76
Around 11.5, but who's counting Ummm, Revis isn't counting.......on playing out the contract so it averages 11.5 million a season. To the contrary, he stated clearly he will likely hold out again in two years when his contract drops from 16.5 mil a year to 13.5 mil a year. And gee, what a warrior that he spent some extra time finally to work out his hamstring. Lord knows he spent his entire preseason working hard on sh*tty rap songs. AFJF
What a slouch staying there during the bye week and working on his hamstring, he doesnt care about this team at all...he got payed and thats all that matters to him! Cant wait for some of you to eat your words when he's shutting down WR's again! I won't be eating any crow. I said he was a douchebag. I was right. I'm not somebody who believes in bowing at somebody's feet because they did something they should be expected to do. He just effed over his team that has SB aspirations. He's a douche. No amount of work ethic or on field results changes the fact that he's a douche. Big Ben is a rapist. Does that change if he makes the pro bowl? Contract Details Coming Out On Revis By Bassett on Sep 06, 2010, 9:18 pm We’ve spent the day on the beach in Maine (one last gasp before football!) so we’re still catching back up. Here’s some details on the Revis contract. It’s a four-year, $46 million contract, with a number of twists and turns. Here’s the details compiled from sources we’ll link up later 2010: $7.5MM base, no signing/roster/option bonuses 2011: $18MM option bonus (1st day of league year), $7.0MM base 2012: $7.5MM base 2013: $6.0MM base Some notes: ◦That second year could choke a python. Egads! Obviously that number skews the deal, but Revis sees a nice sum, the team gets to scramble a little to make next year work, and both sides are happy … at least for two years. ◦Cynically speaking The third year (2012) of the deal is maybe where we could see another contract impasse as the numbers start to drop off. ◦The option bonus is an interesting move, in that while the team will shell out a small fortune, they can still pro-rate it over the remaining years of the deal should a cap be in place and most rules intact in any new CBA. ◦The $32 million in guarantees isn’t full guarantees, which was assumed to be one of the breaking points of the deal. Apparently about $26.5 million is split equally in two types of guarantees: one for injury and one for skill. ◦There is a franchise/transition tag clause that prohibits Revis from being tagged. ◦There is a holdout clause that basically penalizes Revis if he tries to hold out any time before 2013 Is their a story where he says he will hold out in two years? I hadn't seen that
AFJF
Does it really matter what type a person Revis is if the Jets win football games? You sound like he personally did something to you. Who cares. Root for the uniform. Sorry, I don't do that. I root for my team and wish bad things on bad people. I can't wish good things for bad people. It's not in me. I don't allow being a good athlete to earn somebody a pass to rape women, beat their wives, drown animials, etc... I understand that sports has become so big in this country that some people would only stop an athlete from commiting a crime if it meant he'd be late for kickoff if he were allowed to proceed. I realize that doucebag didn't commit any crime here, but it's the same mentaility. "He's good and he plays sports so don't say mean things about him" Not for me thanks. I tell it like it is. He's a hell of a CB when he feels like it, and he's a douche. GO JETS!!

What he did revolves around the business side of football, which most fans don't fully understand. He is not the first player to hold out, and certainly not the last. As a fan, holding a grudge against a player for holding out is ridiculous. Revis got his contract, Jets got their CB back, so what's the problem? As long as he performs on the fotball field, fans should care less how much money he is making.

Maybe a little bit of an a$$hole for not coming to camp but for wanting more money? Who here doesnt want more moey for their job? haha He does need to step up though and get healthy and in shape and staying at the facility during the bye week is a pretty good step towards doing that and again unless your definition of slouch is way off, its not something a "slouch" would do. Seriously, why should any fan care what a players makes, especially in the NFL? Do you care if an actor or actress gets $20 mil to make one move? And please don't give me the old "the cost of going to the game will be more for fans" if players are making more money. Over 85% of player salaries come from NFL revenue sharing. What about the impact that one inflated contract can have on the rest of the team? Should a fan care about that? And for the record, not that anyone cares, I'm not pissed at Revis for holding out...I'm pissed about his utter douchebaggery he displayed while holding out and how that persisted after the holdout. Lupz27
Haven;t you ever did something wrong and then over did it to make it up? He's playing catch up in order to get ready for his next holdout. OBVIOUS Sorry Im just not in the overreact to every little thing that goes wrong (anymore). The season is still very young its a marathon not a sprint. Yea Revis was a greedy douche demanding best player money (which we all were calling him last year), yea he held out and pissed us all off as this was the most promising season we might have ever had, yea he got hurt because of the holdout which pisses everyone off, yea he ran his mouth, and looked bad on the field POSSIBLY not 100% (for you JIF). But you know what INSPITE of all that we are 5-1, best record in the NFL, and some might not agree, but I for one am not worried one bit about Revis getting back to the player he was last year shutting down the teams top option, if thats the way Rex wants to scheme it, or shutting down his side of the field, cause Rex can also scheme it that way with the confidence HE has in Cromartie (I don't tend to agree with that but what the hell do I know im on my couch sundays, and Rex is coaching). If you ask me all the Revis hate, not hate, more like anger will subside, atleast on his onfield perfomance, but maybe never with his greed with some of you. We all need to remember come Monday or Tuesday, we have to go to work, love our kids, wife, mistress, or enjoy our weekend Randoms, and life goes on whether the Jets win or lose, whether Revis plays, or slouches. slats
The only thing I can't stand about players making more money is the cost of going to the game will be more for fans The owners love that you think this; placing the blame of rising costs for fans on the players. The cost of attending a Jet game went way up in 2010, and it had exactly nothing to do with Revis' (or any other player's) salary - and everything to do with the owner looking to extract every penny he can out of the fans. Being concerned about salaries in how they relate to the salary cap is perfectly fair, though.
