this offense should be great

you look at all the talent we have on this offense....

from ol-line to rb's to receivers etc.....

no way should this offense ever put up a goose egg. 2 things holding it down

shottenheimer and sanchez

schottenheimer is just not a good coordinator and sanchez isn't ready for the big time yet. the talent on this team will wind up being wasted for the 2nd year in a row.

he's 29th right now in completion %age, right about where he was last year

yeah, there have been drops, but that's alarming

a guy with great protection and lots of weapons should be in the shaun hill / seneca wallace neighborhood by now

yeah hill and wallace > sanchez

Or the WRs could catch passes. 6 dropped passes, 2 INTs because the WRs can't hold onto the ball. That's 8 negative plays completely on the WRs. 2 of them turning the ball over, while the rest killed drives.

That happened to Tom Brady before and the Pats went out and got Randy Moss and Wes Welker in response.

Agree. Sanchez is and looks scared. He holds onto the dam ball way too long and makes the wrong decisions when he does finally throw it.

I can't understand how Sanchez has regressed. I mean i understand he was horrible during the regular season last year, but when it came to the playoffs, he really stepped his game up. I just don't understand how he's regressing.

Its like he's losing confidence in himself.

If that's the case, he is not the leader of this offense like he should be thus showing he still has not taken that step to the next level.

Thats the sh*tty part, NE, Miami and Buffalo really made you think he turned a corner.

Green bay threw some stuff at him that he was not used to, his receivers were dropping balls, the play calling was Schotty, he got rattled.

He's young, there are going to be bumps and set backs, he has bounced back from bad games like this before, this is all part of stepping up to become the leader you want him to be.

i mean he went through this last year....where he played very badly. this year it's not quite as bad.....and granted his receivers didn't really help him any today. but still....

i hope i'm eating crow with this thread by the end of the year.

I understand your points. But if it's something that turns into a gradual decline, then you have problems. Bumps and set backs should be easily rectified with proper study and other tools like having a superb o-line and running game to help him work his way back to form. I don't mind a few bumps, I just don't want to see this become a regular habit.

How did he bounce back after game one?

Im not gonna dog on Sanchez. hes in his 2nd year, theres gonna be up and downs. Eli sucked in the beginning of 2007 and wound up winning the super bowl that year.

Shottys play calling is god awful IMHO. they never do play action pass on 1st and 10 (even though when they do it always works). its ok to be conservative, it's not ok to be predictable. the offense is way too predictable.
