Some questions...

Looking for some answers.

When our D has a good game is it the result of poor gameplanning and playcalling on the offense's side? Are their coaches just missing on some details against us and that's why the D tends to stymie the opponents O? Are the coaches just not calling/planning any type of offensive rhythm? Are they not adjusting well enough? Are the coaches not calling a strong enough run:pass ratio? Are the coaches just unwilling to establish the run? Are they just pussyfooting around with their playcalls?

Will my buddy get an angry cat video in here? Will he be the first to reply? Will I be accused of trolling or something close to it? Am I doing this so that everyone will "look" at me? Am I just being a know it all? Do I just want to put a stamp on how much of football expert I think I am?

No, when opposing offenses are bad it's cause our defense was good. When our offense struggles, it's cause <insert generally accepted fall guy> or weather or refs or luck. Welcome to fandom, it's the same on every message board.

I am interested in seeing if we get a trend with bad passing numbers at the new stadium, couple of posters who usually know thier stuff mentioned the winds are pretty bad in the new stadium (atleast in windy games).

Me too but I have a strong suspicion it could be an aberration...like the New Yankee Stadium being a monster hitter's park...that went away fast.

The better QB to get a sample from would be Eli though...He's got something of a statistical track record with 7 years in the league and a comparison of his old Giant Stadium numbers to his New Meadowlands numbers might work as long as the fact that this is a small sample size is kept in mind.

When our D has a good game its the result of the D's awesomeness and our coaching staffs brilliance.

When our O has a good game its the result of the O's awesomeness despite our coaching staffs incompetence.

I don't see how this helps your pro-Schotty stance.

IF the Jets D outplays the opposition it is because our D outplayed and outcoached that O. We have come to expect that we will outcoach the other team's O with Ryan and Pettine.

IF the Jets O is outplayed by the opposition it is because we were outplayed and outcoached. The Jets had numerous issues in that game, starting with the drops and INT handoffs, but Schottenheimer wasn't exactly calling a masterpiece. At home. Getting shutout in the NFL is pretty pathetic.

There may have been other factors. People have brought up the wind, but if that were the case it is certainly on Schotty for not going away from the pass. The team has laid 2 big eggs on O and he needs to take some responsiblity for that, he seemed to after week 1.

I meant monitor the passing stats in windy games you vicious little chihuahua

gfy

Chihuahua? That's definitely the first time I've ever been referred to as such... probably has something to do with the fact that I was wearing 4T clothes at a year old.

The GFY, on the other hand, is commonplace.
