Jets put out the word: No Randy Moss claim

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 3, 2010 12:52 PM ET

The Jets want to make sure everyone knows they didn't put a waiver claim in for Randy Moss.

Reports from the New York Daily News, Newark Star-Ledger, and ESPNNewYork.com all say via team sources that the Jets didn't put a claim on Moss or Shawne Merriman.

A team spokesman also denied that there was any contact with Moss Wednesday, despite a local radio report to the contrary.

"There has been no contact with Moss or his agent," the spokesman told Gary Myers of Daily News. "Zero."

The Ravens, Browns, Cowboys, and Seahawks are among the teams that have put out word they won't claim Moss. It won't be long until we find out who is telling the truth, and who actually does want Moss on their team at their current salary.

In a plan only Doctor Evil could have devised. Randy Moss will be a Cheatriot once again. He will pass thru waivers and the Rats will get him for the $450,000 while the ViQueens continue to pay his salary and say thank you to BB for taking away their 3rd round pick.

I think Moss will be claimed by the Lions this week. And then somehow he will be sent to the Browns who will waive him in time for him to get back to the Patriots.

It is all part of the plan to have the Jets face him 13 times this season.

The Lions actually claiming him won't surprise me, reunited with Linehan as O-coordinator.
