Oh well. Maybe we should have had Revis on Burleson a few times to mix it up. Teams are seriously killing us with the underneath stuff.

Teams are seriously killing us with the underneath stuff. me too, maybe he gets healthy or the light goes on for VG, but any kind of pass rush and this team is lights out dangerous in a way you can't complain even watching coleman and jimmy getting picked on because they spoiled us last year with such a dominant pass defense, that being very good seems like torture but back to the original thread idea, revis has kicked the rust off officially

LionelRichie
this defense is just about the best vs. the run that I have ever scene. The problem right now is a total lack of pass rush and the 3rd cb's. Rex either needs to figure out how to get help for coleman on 3rd down or more pressure on the QB. Revis was completely dominant today and hopefully back for good. Cromartie was also pretty much shut down today which unfortunately left Coleman with a little too much 1-on-1. Safeties were pretty worthless. Leonard is having a poor year compared to last and Pool has been a big disappointment. Neither can stay with big TEs or discourage WRs from running crossing patterns over the middle. With Revis back in form and Cromartie playing at a high level, the nickel and safeties are going to see more balls than Perez Hilton.

pfilippone
Revis back to health is great news for our team. This may be a dumb question, but why don't the Jets CBs ever blitz the QB? I never saw Revis or Cro go after the QB. Does the Jets D not do CB blitzes? Woodson does for GB...

stoicsentry
They do, see Dwight Lowery. Yup Dwight Lowery, Coleman and other DBs (non-corners) do. Revis not so much. I know it might succeed because it would be unexpected, but I want you to just take a minute and try to imagine the outrage of idiot Jets fans if they sent Revis on a blitz and one of the other corners got burnt. Does the Jets D not do CB blitzes? Woodson does for GB... Rex talked about this last year when Woodson was winning the DPOY award, and Revis deserved it. Basically said that Revis was too good in coverage to "waste him" on a blitz. They will send the nickel guy once in a while, and Cromartie is too much of a pussy to sack the QB. Revis doesn't blitz the QB because he has one job: Take the opposing team's # 1 WR out of the game. Cro doesn't blitz because he's a p**sy who avoids contact. JiF
It seems like his nuts shrilved up a bit on calling the all out blitzes. We do need a pass rusher Definitely. Was shocked to see not blitzing at Stafford yesterday. Although, they were spreading it out and it was making it hard to blitz. Still would have liked to seen it a lot more...especially on that opening drive. Dont know why we let him gain any confidence.
