Greenranger
This goes way beyond Romo before he went down, they actually have the 3rd ranked passing game in the league. The running game is 31st in the league and the defense has played like crap all year.

Irish Jet
Romo was holding an already shaky team together, to at least make them competitive. Without him, they are absolutely nothing. They've quit.
SenorGato
Their O-line is by far their most garbage unit. Maybe get a S and another corner since Newman isn't young... They can be good with Romo, but that's a toss up to me...they're clearly better with him there's all the other bs.

SenorGato
Cowher or bust for them? If not Cowher they'd have to hope the Broncos fire McDaniels or Schottenheimer proves worthy or Fisher leaves Tennessee or maybe try Mornhingwheg or iunno...there's probably a more obvious guess I'm missing. This is one of the extreme cases where the HC really needs to be let go. Phillips isn't bad at coaching football, but the HC'ing thing isn't working out so well. He lives in Raleigh and has little desire to leave after his wife passed, and no matter how much money Jerry Jones were to throw at him, there's too much drama to be worth dealing with. With the Panthers, he'd be given 100 % control of all personnel and coaching decisions. No such situation in Dallas.
Bugg
Their OL sucks. But their defense is worse. They DO NOT TACKLE.Don't know how Phillips keeps his job after another noneffort by his defense. As a betting proposition their lines are going to get silly, and that defense will give up the over by themselves.

Agreed, but gotta figure Jerry's ego will take a hit when Cowher turns it down because he will try. I think he'll want to go offense, preferably young, but maybe the idea of stealing a rival's OC entices him some too.

They didn't lose one game where Romo played by more than one score. Like I said he could keep them competitive in games. Look what they've done since. Jacksonville and Green Bay, wow. Mean while the Cowboy's site is down. Has Chris Berman mentioned any "Big changes in Big D" or anything? If they were to fire him what would happen? Garrett becomes the interim? This is interesting, somewhat.

Greenranger
Report: Wade Phillips out as Cowboys coach Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 8, 2010 2:25 PM ET Jerry Jones has reportedly put Wade Phillips out of his misery. CBS-11 in Dallas first reported that Phillips was fired Monday as Cowboys coach. The news was quickly confirmed by the local FOX station and NBCDFW's Newy Scruggs. It's worth noting that none of the beat writers that follow the team have confirmed the report. Albert Breer of the NFL Network said that Jones' planned meetings with the team's coaching staff are currently underway. Jason Garrett reportedly will be been named interim head coach.
