Steveg
Jets LB Bart Scott to Lions coach Jim Schwartz: 'He'll be watching TV in January' After Sunday's game against the Lions, Detroit-born Jets linebacker Bart Scott said that he'd just faced the dirtiest team he'd ever played against. "I swear to God, I hope I see them again," Scott said of the Lions. Jim Schwartz, Detroit's head coach, responded subtlety with "consider the source." On Wednesday, Scott's first comments since the Detroit game, it seems the issue has taken on a life of its own as Scott tried to put things to a definitive rest. "We're playing the Browns man, I ain't going to oblige him. He'll be watching TV in January, I don't got nothing to say to him. "Listen, I won't have to play Detroit for another four years, I could care less what that man has to say. He don't even exist to me anymore. Does it really matter? I don't have to see him ever again. Am I going to see the Super Bowl? Playoffs? Probably not. In the parking lot? What do you want me to say? Why would I care. I never have to see him again. Ever." Scott was then reminded of his time as a free agent. The Lions had shown some interest, but it did not go far. Scott seems to like it that way. "I think I turned down that deal to Detroit. Two years ago I think I told them no, thank you. (My agent and I ) told them early it wasn't going to happen." * * * Matt Slauson was on the bikes during practice today and didn't participate after injuring his right knee on the last offensive play of the game against Detroit on Sunday. After practice, though, he was confident this was not a serious setback. "I had an MRI, everything looked great, it showed some swelling and that's about it." He said he's ready for practice tomorrow as well as the game against Cleveland on Sunday.

Maxman
Bart Scott reminds me of Apollo Creed. He is rich and seems to have it all. Yet he will fight you in a second. That anger must fuel him....

THE ILK
I like the way he threw "since the last time he played the titans" in his locker room rant, schwartz was their DC the last time he played them. Bitch better hope he never bumps into Bart on the street!

Integrity28
Not only do I like what Bart Scott says... but I like the way he says it. He has one of those 1970's badass mofo voices straight out of a Blaxploitation film. Bart Scott is like the love child of a 70's free love orgy between Superfly, Dolemite, Cleopatra Jones, Shaft and Foxy Brown.
Smashmouth
Bart Scott over the past 4 games has played his best football as a Jet and I love the way he gets in peoples faces. Keep it up Bart !!!!
BroadwayJ667
hey he learned it from Jeff Fisher. Fisher's teams play very "to the line" football. Shouldn't be a huge surprise. It worked to a point. IT got a penalty on Scott. The Jets played more disciplined though compared to the Giants against Tennessee
whodeawhodat
I liked this guy since the first time he played patsies as a jet. I think it was the second play of our first defensive series. He came straight after the guard who was trying to double down on the nose. Bart didnt care where the football was, he launched himself and knocked the guard back off his feet 3 yards into the backfield. It was one of the most violent hits I have ever seen and the guy didnt even have the ball. I understood right then 2 points from rex. 1. Noone wants to face his team and 2. He coaches a violent defense.

If you watch him, he runs full speed into fullbacks and pulling guards all the time and tries to blast them back off their feet..... he does this away from the plays alot, so you have to really watch for it. I think he and Harris do this alot, as well as Conner on the other side of the ball. These guys just like to smash people and hit. Your right about no one wanting to face us. Its going to be even worse in December when its cold and no one really wants to take big hits anymore....the cold separates the men from the boys. They set an attitude and a tempo, away from the play or in the play, your going to get hit.....HARD. I love it!!...other teams won't....

JohnnyHector
So, players from other teams "mouth off" and they are jackasses. Scott does it, and he's a "mad mo-fo." LOL!!! Timeline of events: - Player claims team is dirty, which is supported by league handing out multiple post-game fines for dirty play. - Opposing team's coach responds by saying "consider the source" - a direct affront to said player. - Player responds to coach in kind. Scott might have a big mouth, but he's not the one that stooped to the level of personal insults.

I guess I should "consider the source" though...

SoFlaJets
so wait, let me re-cap: Bart Scott calls out the Lions for being a dirty classless organization with players for which the league itself agreed by 3 fines being levied in one game on 3 seperate plays and Bart Scott is the loudmouth and a thug? JiF
Because you amuse me In your Patsies elitist high horse looking down on the stupid common folk Jets fan kinda way? You amuse me in that I cant believe that someone could be so arrogant and ignorant kinda way. So even though you hate this board and you think its pathetic and you think Jets fans are morons with no Football IQ, I hope you never leave. I mean, who else is going to show us how to be a true fan, who's fandom directly impacts their teams success and knows everything about Football. Without you, all of us would be sitting around still believing that Moss was the reason for Welkah's success. We have you to thank for showing us that we were all completely wrong about that and that Welkah is what makes your offense click.

Aten
You're the one that played the hear-me-roar card, right? The sensitive card is great. It's basically like saying I only lost the argument because you actually believe what you're saying and I'm just wasting time, so really, I won. Only upshot is the rest of us get to see what Cheers would have been like if Carla and Cliff had hooked up instead of Sam and Diane.
