You might have forgotten about Jenn Sterger (thanks, Randy Moss!), but the NFL didn't -- and after CBS Sports' Charlie Casserly reported less than two weeks ago that she'd agree to meet with the NFL, she did, sitting down with NFL security maven Milt Ahlerich and another NFL investigator at an "undisclosed location" on Thursday.

Sterger's manager, Phil Reese, confirmed the meeting to the New York Post Thursday afternoon and indicated that Team Sterger (Reese, attorney Joseph Conway, and Sterger herself) brought along "substantial materials" with them."We can confirm that a meeting took place with the NFL today and we cooperated fully by providing them with substantial materials in our possession," Reese told The Post after the sitdown.

"We now await the NFL's decision."

It at least seems like Favre declined to settle with Sterger -- after all, Team Sterger made it clear that if some sort of financial settlement was reached, she wouldn't talk with the NFL -- and that her team full of advisors decided meeting with the NFL equated to the most logical decision for her to take.

Favre has admitted to leaving her the voicemails from Deadspin, but claimed that the did not send any lewd photos to Sterger via text message.

Considering that it would probably take a telephone bill in order to actually prove that Sterger did receive those -- after all, anyone can save a photo on their phone these days, and the alleged pictures are out there -- it'll be interesting to see what comprises "substantial materials" and what logic Team Sterger has for being completely open with the NFL at this point.

libelous crap

I haven't read anywhere that a settlement is what she was after

logic tells us if she was after money she never would have released the goods, because it's the THREAT of releasing them that gets you paid

why would brett pay her after they were released ?

typical "demonize the victim" BS

total crap article

Initially I defended her because Deadspin took private information and made it public. But how her and her team have handled this after the pics came out is opportunistic nonsense.

they could have struck while the iron was hot weeks ago gotten paid by the tabloids and done interviews non stop for a week

I think if she goes away quietly she looks worse, like a push over

meeting in a private place hardley seems opportunistic

Opportunistic as in a money grab from Favre and the Jets.

How much were the tabloids going to pay her for the story? A hundred grand? A little more? She'd likely want millions in a settlement.

Plus, her friend poked holes in her story (the friend talked to the NFL weeks ago and Sterger's manager proceeded to throw the friend under the bus).

Like I said, I originally thought she was the victim and only criticized her for how she handled the situation after the pics came out with her manager and legal team.

Plus, her manager did mention financial settlement.

I thought her manager said it was never a consideration

If he did say they were open to it or whatever, that changes everything for me

everything !!

well, if that's the statement in question, it's very dubious at best, there isn't a direct quote there, only speculation unless the author was at the meeting

Yeah I don't know what he was referring to, but he's claiming they made it clear to Favre before this meeting.

I don't remember if it came out that they made demands to Favre or not.

That skank expects Favre to pay for what? Pix that are already on the net?

No, it sounds like she would have refused to meet with the NFL to confirm anything, if they paid her off.

But I have been posting these updates for a while now, and I can't remember where anyone said they tried to get money from Favre in the first place.

Hey lawyer or representative said a while ago that she would not cooperate if they came to some sort of "financial settlement".

Guess Favre told her to go F herself!

can you kindly link to that ?

unless someone can show me where one of her reps is on record and directly quoted I'm sticking to my guns that she is being demonized and stereo- typed

I found this

My link

Attorney Joseph Conway refuted a St. Paul Pioneer Press report that claimed Sterger wouldn't cooperate with the ongoing investigation in exchange for a financial settlement from Favre

Why do you all beleive everything you read? The Favre PR machine is strong. What is it about Brett Favre that makes anyone think he's telling the absolute truth? His selfless acts and desire to stay in the background? The way he shuns from the spotlight? His "we" attitude?

Not all of us believe him. I don't believe anything he says. I get into arguments all the time with one of my coworkers who is basically a Favre ballwasher. I can't stand Favre and his act. I see right through it. I HATED the fact the Jets got him for that year. His routine is old and tired, just like him.

What's he going to do, confirm it? This is very simple. When a lawyer who hasn't asserted any claims starts talking about 'remedies,' it's the functional equivalent of a big neon sign that says This Is a Shakedown.
