How did you become a Jets fan?

When, where etc.

I will start:

I was a AFL Bills fan living in Hamburg, NY when my Dad was transferred in 1964, while I was 11.

It was the beginning of amath era, no Internet to read about your 'old' hometown team, and my Dad brought me to Shea for Jets games, so I quickly started to be a Jets fan. Had a next door neighbors who were NFL old school Giants fans, so I got lots of abuse (until SB3 and SB4 wink.gif)

Been a fan ever since, had season tickets to Shea until I moved south in 1983.

Been watching Jets games in Raleigh ever since with a large group of transplanted NY/NJ/Ct. fans.

Turned both of my sons into die-hard Jets fans. They say 'Thanks for Dad, all the heartache' sad.gif

Sounds like what I say to my Dad, but I wouldnt want it any other way. Been a Jets fan for as long as I can remember watching football. Used to have a catch with my dad during commercials across my den (which my Mom obviousely LOVED) with an old rubber Jets football which one of us is still holding while watching the games.

Was also a Cowboys fan when I was little because I liked Deion Sanders haha

Like many others, grew up in New York. Valley Stream, Long Island. Pops was a Jets and Mets fan. His boys followed suit. He used to be good friends with the Director of Player Personnel in the 80's. We used to get on the field at practice and meet the team. My brother arm wrestled Joe Klecko for an ice cream cone once. I have a lot of fond memories at Hofstra and going to Shea with my father. Dude would park like 4 miles away from Shea so he could park cheap...longest F'ing walk ever.

I remember fondly as a kid being a big fan of Little Joe Morris. We were all watching the Giants game at home one day and cheered for them when he scored. My brother, probably 13/14 at the time, smacked me and told me "we root for the Jets in this house"...lol.

Misery since...

Is there a prize for weirdest route to becoming a Jets fan?

My husband named my horse after a one-year Jets WR the last year of Parcell's reign. So I had to start watching.

I moved to NY from Philly, never paid much attention to the Iggles (or football for that matter) while I lived there. Now I hate the Iggles, and the Giants too.

Like many, because of my Dad.

My Dad was a Giants fan and liked the new league when it started. He was a huge Maynard fan and he said the games were cool because they passed the ball and had cool uniforms. When he watched NFL games afterwards it was like going to black and white. I think Night Stalker said the same thing. He grew to despise the Giants because they sucked, but Giants fans insisted they were better than the Jets. He actually skipped Woodstock to go and see the Jets kick the Giants a$$ at the Yale Bowl. "Bye, bye Allie!" I remember Namath, Philbin, Boozer, etc. Little Eddie Bell was my favorite Jet because he caught a sick 80 yard tipped TD with time running out to beat the Colts in the first game I ever went to at 5 years old.

Grew up on Long island dad was a huge Giants fan -- I waa too young when they played in the SB and during the 70s there was not alot of football to cheer from but when they finally lifted the blackout ban -- If some remember they never showed home games at all regardless of sellout. One season they won their last 3 or 4 games to end up .500 and I just loved watching them play in Shea and the crowd going crazy -- Don't know why but some reason or another I fell in love with the Green and White. and in 1981 when they made the playoffs -- for the 1st time in my memory my love for the team became a passion. and my 1st official heartbreak when we lost to the Bills on a last minute endzone interception during the wildcard game.

My oldest brother was a Jet and Namath fan. Used to watch the games with him WHEN i WAS 10 OR 11 and looked up to him so I rooted for the Jets. Namath sucked me all the way in. My brother has hated the Jets now for 30 yrs, the prick. He keeps asking me why I continue to punish myself. I tell him I WILL have the last laugh...BWAHAHAHA COUGH, COUGH

Grew up in Brooklyn, needed more reasons to fight jints fans.

I found JN doing a search for Pee Wee Herman's mug shot... T0mShane's account popped up.

I probably should have cut bait right there.

God, you will never not be mad about that. I can see this now. Ima hug you anyway. (((((BrooklynJets))))

My older brother always liked the Jets so I guess I just became a fan because he was. Later on, he worked for the Jets and so did my neighbor, so they would let us go onto the sidelines during training camp when I was a kid about 15 years ago maybe.

I still have a framed picture of myself and family with Boomer and one with Curtis Martin and I think one with Adrian Murrell (I barely remember that dude)

That's it, really.
