The Miami Dolphins were forced to start their third-string quarterback Thursday night against the Chicago Bears.

Tyler Thigpen revealed during the week he hadn't taken a single practice rep since the regular season began, and he had only three days to prepare for his first start in two years.

Dolphins running backs Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown combined for just six carries for 11 yards against the Bears.

One might think the Dolphins would help him out by letting Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown take as many handoffs as possible.

Whoever would dare think such a thing turned out to be dead wrong. The Dolphins abandoned the run in a 16-0 loss at Sun Life Stadium. It was only the second home shutout in 40 years for Miami.

Rest at the link. Wish I had been able to watch this game.

lol

watch shotty run it 40 times sunday vs the 32nd ranked pass defense

they won't be expecting that !!!!

Many years ago (15?) I watched the Raiders open up a game against us by running something like 11 straight times in one drive. And we supposedly were strong against the run. It was like watching a train wreck. Around the same time (1993), we knocked their starting QB out of the game and their backup, Vince Evans came in a lit us up to come back and win. Times like that have taught me that sometimes you really can't take anything for granted.

I'm pretty sure that was a Herm game.

Yeah, that game was in 2003. Rick Mirer was the Raiders starting QB at the time.

When your a dolphin fan and your team sucks only one thing can make your season....beat the jets.

The best you can do on that is a split, so unless hypothetically that would have implications on the playoffs, there's not much to celebrate. Also, you could beat the Cheaters at the end of the season, helping us big time. That would be insult to injury - LOL !!

Do we have to discuss anything about the Miami Dolphins anymore this season (at least not until they play the Jets again)? That team is dead this season. They will not make the playoffs. If they were smart, they would tank the rest of the season, and get a decent first-rounder.

Players don't think like that, they play for pride and to be spoilers. Hopefully that's there attitude on the last game of the season.
