GangisGreen
How much we hate to admit it Belichick is a great coach. It just shows in the emergence of Danny Woodhead, under Belichick Woodhead looks like a superstar because Belichick knows how to use him. Shotty never could do this hence we cut him. I mean seriously Shotty barely, and I mean barely, knows how to utilize LT, Holmes, Edwards, and Keller.

I mean seriously Shotty barely, and I mean barely, knows how to utilize LT, Holmes, Edwards, and Keller. Woodhead looks like a superstar because they have almost no RB. It doesn't hurt that the Colts can't play defense. The Jets cut Woodhead because he sucks compared to Green and Tomlinson and they needed a WR that week. The Jets have a lot of talent, but they are handcuffing Sanchez to keep the mistakes down. When they have to score, they score, but you still want to blame him? THE ILK
Woodhead would not even be playing here, hopefully one day McKnight will.
SMC
Woodhead had nothing to do with Schotty. Woodhead would never see the field ahead of LT & Greene. Woodhead was actually inactive in his first game with the Pats. The only reason he's playing is because the Pats' 3rd string RB is now the starter due to injuries and trades. He got caught in a #’s game. Jets decided to go with 4 TE’s. guess Rex is an idiot. Jets are 8-2, and still in front of the Pats Woodhead is a good role player, not a Superstar. GangisGreen
Ok, bad post. But what I was trying to say is Belichick gets the most out of mediocre players, while Shotty has true superstars and more often than not totally has no idea on how to use them. T0mShane
Woodhead works in New England because they can spread the field with Brady, which creates space for even the tiniest Caucasians to get the ball on the move and make plays. Here, he'd have to try and run behind a fullback in the power game and would die in a brutal fashion.

JiF
I'm really happy for Woodhead. How can any sports fan not be? He's playing outstanding and is a big part of the success of an 8-2 team who really needed a player like him. The Jets OTOH, didnt need his skill set. While I wish he was still with the Jets because I always liked his versatility and heart...I'm happy for him. **** the Pats.
aec4
What has BB won without Brady? He went 11-5 with his backup QB. This is the dumbest argument I ever saw. What is he supposed to do, cut Brady so he can prove he can win without him?

Where would we even find room for him in between the double-reverses and the motioning of fullbacks from the slot to the I-formation?
Mattyandthejets
im really happy for woodhead, but lets be honest, the only reason the patriots are using him is because their running back core is ridiculously depleted. if they draft a top RB which they will this year then woodhead might get cut and if he isnt then he may get 1 or 2 carries at the end of the game. Here, he'd have to try and run behind a fullback in the power game and would die in a brutal fashion. It would have been awesome to watch though. The funny thing is that I think Schottenheimer would like nothing more than to spread it out. He sees the value and IMO many of what he considers his bread and butter come from these sets. The issue is that this doesn't conincide with having a defensive team. Look at how the Pats D went in the toilet when they got the O. None of those offensive teams has more than an adequate D - Colts, Saints. The teams with very good to great defenses - Jets, Steelers, Ravens - all have a "ground and pound" type philosophy. No matter what you all think, there is a reason for that.

How is that spreading the field exactly? Let's face it, we made a mistake releasing him. He has about 4 touchdowns and is a threat in the passing AND running game. Woodhead is playing because there is no one else due to injury, the Pats run a spread offense and they don't really care about running the ball much. Still Woodhead is gone because of McKnight. McKnight did have 3 ST tackles yesterday which is an improvement, that may be a hopeful sign the guy is beginning to get it. Kinda funny that Braylon Edwards was playing safety on the last play of the game, so I guess he beat out McKnight of the 8th DB role in the prevent after all that talk of playing Mcknight at DB. Bugg
Duh... McKnight is a CB, not a S! In that situation it's all DBs on deck. Though Edwards from what I heard has been on the field for a few max downfield coverage plays even before yesterday.

That's why they used to use Keyshawn.
