Jetfan13
What the hell is with all these missed assignments on passing plays in the 4th quarter? Thank God our offense, because of or in spite of, Shotty,is getting the job done. We are pressing our luck to far now. This Dee has to get better against the pass NOW!. Sanchez now 3 4th quater come from behind wins in a row..Thank God for Santonio Holmes, they should give that guy a raise NOW !!!
Irish Jet
Think it was Cro who blew that play at the end. He gets a pass because he's been fantastic. Revis played well, but got INCREDIBY lucky when he got roasted by Walter. He's still not what he was. The blitzes are not working nearly as well, Pace hasn't been good at all. Scott is the only one who IMO is playing at an all-pro level. Although DeVito is a hero. And Eric Smith should be shot.

He took the inside guy, and so did the safety, leaving the outside guy to run free and make the play.
JiF
I was very confused by the defensive calls that game. We took the foot off the throttle on both sides of the ball. Its almost like we dont like blowing teams out. We played dime the entire 4th quarter...it was making me go mental.

Revis has been getting toasted once a game and has been getting very lucky that either the WR or QB couldnt connect. 2009 Revis would have picked that ball in the endzone to Johnson. Eric Smith is quite possibly the worst Football player ever. I cringe ever time I see him in the game. Pace has been garbage. Scott and Harris have been great. Ellis has been solid, DeVito and Pouha have been solid. We just dont have a pass rusher who can break out of blocks. Its sad. If we dont get a free run at the QB, we dont get sacks or pressures. I doubt it...everyone knows who the Jets are and what they want to do. Its not a surprise. IDK - it was frustrating as hell though. I kept screaming, WTF is going on here, 6 DB's in the game, 1 LB and 4 down linemen? Thats not Jets football.
shawn306
For all the heat Schotty gets when the O struggles it amazes me that the D gets a pass. Sooner or later it is going to come back and bite them. I totally agree with E.Smith. The only thing he is good for is drawing fines from the league. The league has caught on to the Jets blitz packages, rendering them basically useless. Either Rex needs to come up with a different kind of blitz package or guys like Pace, Bryan Thomas, Taylor or dare I say Gholston needs to start getting the QB. That 4th qtr collapse was ridiculous. Xtina
Not so much from a strategic standpoint as saving themselves physically for a short week. I'm starting to believe is our players. We just dont have a single true pass rusher on this team. We have a couple who are shells of their former selves...but not one studly pass rusher. You can call all the blitzes you want to, its never stopped Jim Johnson, but I think he's had guys who could get to the Qb and we dont. Hell, look at Rex in Balt. He had guys that could get there. I just think the Jets flat out dont have a single true pass rusher on the team. So his blitzes are not affective because we dont have guys who can shed blockers. If we dont get a free run at the Qb from some insane overlaod, we dont get pressures. Eric Smith sucks. Not so much from a strategic standpoint as saving themselves physically for a short week. Like, the way Rex had the team practice with no pads last week? Maybe. But Rex doesnt seem like the type who would sacrifice a win for the sake of resting for a short week. I don't think he thought he could be sacrificing a win but maybe with a 17 point lead thought it was a little safer than it actually was, and might have been without the fumble. RutgersJetFan
It's a personnel problem. Revis doesn't give a sh*t. Taylor and Pryce are good for 1-2 plays per game and haven't seen as much time on the field the past two games, but the problem is that guys like Kroul and Gholston aren't really any better. Our safeties suck, which in turn negates our ability to blitz up the middle, a strength of ours last season. Offenses have adjusted to how Rex uses Pace and Thomas as rush backers and they can't get free because of their limitations. I would not be surprised at all if next year's offseason is focused almost completely on defensive players. There is some good news though. Wilson has played very well for the past two weeks. JiF
Our blitzers run into the wall and stay blocked. They look like a fly hitting a windshield I've never seen a team that literally doesnt have one player who can shed blocks. Jason Gaylor does it everyone once in a blue moon, same with Ellis, but thats about it. I don't think he thought he could be sacrificing a win but maybe with a 17 point lead thought it was a little safer than it actually was, and might have been without the fumble. Good points and I wouldnt entirely dismiss your logic here...but we never had a 17 point lead...it was 16 so it was always a 2 possession game with the 2 point conversations. PatsFanTX
Revis is playing great. What games are you watching? Revis has been burned for how many TD's this year? Walter beat him deep again yesterday but lost the ball in the sun. Not too mention, Revis has as many INT's as Gholston has sacks.

He hasn't given up a TD since the Broncos game troll and that WR was out of bounds. He bottled up Andre Johnson (a top 3 WR in the NFL troll) for most of the game, yesterday was his worst game of the season, and Walter's play doesn't count last time i checked. And if no one throws at you you aren't gonna get INT's. Thats why they are useless at judging CB's.

CTM
For all the heat Schotty gets when the O struggles it amazes me that the D gets a pass. First immpressions die hard. Last years defense was ridiculously good, and we added talent, so people naturally expected better. People are catching on, we've been a below avg pass defense all season, and teams that are below avg defending the pass aren't top defenses in a pass happy league

sirlancemehlot
It's pass rush. plain and simple. QB's can hang on for second and third reads without getting touched. We send blitzers to pick up the rush and leave our DB's short-handed. Revis is not worse than last year--he's just covering guys for twice as long. Give me a half-hour and I'd get open. Sad thing is, we knew we needed a pass rush yet drafted a CB #1 (when we had two #1 corners already playing), then drafted a guard (who is sitting behind a guard we already have) then moved up to draft a RB (when we already had Greene, Tomlinson, Woodhead, Washington...). Integrity28
I think our defense falls apart in the 4th quarter, because the offense hasn't done a good job of keeping them off the field early in games. If Schotty could get the offense tuned in earlier - rather than waiting on late game heroics - they'd be able to keep our defense from getting gassed, and more importantly put the ball in the endzone early. Scoring early is the first ingredient in playing the type of defense that Rex usually preaches. There is no excuse for when Rex stops attacking with a lead, that is when you should attack the most. 4th quarter bend but don't break - always screws us.
