Boozer76
Man, what the hell is with everybody? I get it the Pats are a good team, so are we. They are certainly not without their flaws. I fully expect the media to suck up to Belidick and Brady, but for christ sakes it looks like 90% of our fan base has already chalked this up as a loss! Honestly, what a bunch of slapdick attitudes we have around here, with slapdick expectations. I think we're going to walk into their home and beat the ever loving snot out of them right in front of their mommies and wives and children and fans. That's what I think! SoFlaJets
I certainly don't think NE has a better team than us. In fact, the only advantage I see them having right now is at the QB position and if we can get a fair shake from the refs Monday we stand a good chance of winning the biggest game of the year. SoFlaJets
Jets will win in New England Monday Night! Published: Monday, November 29, 2010, 1:37 PM Harry Kidis Mark Sanchez There, I said it! The New England Patriots have over achieved this year. They are not as good as the Jets! The good news is the overachieving will end Monday night December 6th when they face the New York Jets! The Pats have not faced a better defense than the Jets all year and it will expose their weaknesses! Without Randy Moss occupying Revis, Belicheat has a real problem on offense. The best corners in football will cover his best receivers, Branch and Welker. Moreover, since the Pats are a one-dimensional offense anyway (they can’t run the ball), this leaves the TE, Hernandez – who I agree is a matchup problem - and Woodhead (not a smart move on Rex’s part in letting him go). I’m sure Rex will take his chances with a rookie TE and Woodhead trying to beat him. I believe Brady will be under pressure and will need to keep max protection to cover the Jets blitzing. I don’t see a lot of options for Brady here. Clearly, the Jets offense vs. the Pats defense is more dynamic than the Pats offense vs. the Jets Defense! So the question is how does Belicheat try to solve this ofensive problem? The Jets will have an extra man and still be able to send 7 blitzers; with 4 covering 2 WRs and TE. He may try to bring in a 2 TE set and try to run on the Jets to kill the clock, but I don’t see that working. Brady will only have time for short pass plays which require long sustained drives to score. On the other side, Belicheat’s young defense will have problems with the Jets offense. Who’s going to cover Holmes, Edwards, Keller, LT, and Green; not to mention Brad Smith! Of course, Belicheat is a master at disguising his defense to confuse QBs. As in the first game and many recent games this year, the Jets control the 2nd half of play with half time adjustments and physical play. Baring a big turnover differential, the Jets should pull this game out and go on to win the division and best record in Football! Hopefully, the Jets will not come out flat after the 10 day layoff as they did after their bye week. I’m sure Belicheat will have the Pats ready to play, take advantage of every possible break and keep the game close but, the 2nd half will show how really far apart these two teams are. The only team that can beat the Jets is the Jets. Penalties, turnovers, missed field goals, missed assignments on defense, Schottenheimer’s predictable play calling and Sanchez’s play have all showed their ugly head in games this year. However, this is the first time in many years the Jets have a more talented team than the Pats. The guard has changed in the AFC East and the NY JETS are ready to be crowned Champions! SoFlaJets
Rex says he's similar to Brady, admires Belichick Updated: Nov 29, 2010 03:15 PM By Roderick Boone Rex Ryan tossed out the compliments today, perhaps trying to fool the Patriots with a little love fest, knowing what lies ahead in exactly a week. He compared himself to Patriots QB Tom Brady and also talked about his admiration for Belichick, opening up his press conference with a couple of shout outs to New England's main men. "I never realized how similar that I am to Tom Brady," Ryan said minutes ago after the Jets wrapped up today's short practice here at The Hangar. "I mean, the obviously physical appearance would be the first thing. The fact that he’s married to a Super Model? Hello?" That's when Ryan reached underneath the podium, pulling out a December edition of a particular magazine and turning to a page that featured a picture of his wife Michelle. "Yeah," Ryan said. "I’m also married to a Super Model. I just happened to turn to "InStyle" magazine, page 329. OK? So I just realized that we are very similar that way, all right?" Ryan gushed about Belichick, the very same man whom he once said he's not here "to kiss Bill Belichick's rings." "I admire Bill Belichick and the reason I do is because I think he’s the No. 1 coach in this league and that’s indisputable and all that," Ryan said. "He’s smart, he gets his team every single year, gets ‘em going, great evaluator of talent. But I do admire him as a son of a coach and all that. "Do I want to be like him? Nah, I want to be like myself, but I want to have the success that he’s had. But you like to compete against the best and that’s why I like going against him. It’s something that I try to give my best shot every time out and I know he gives us his best shot. That’s what we expect Monday night and I know we’ll get it." SoFlaJets
Exactly. I thought it was "defense wins SB's"? What I see happening with the NFL in the last oh say 3 years or so IS that whole myth about it being (again) "a quarterback driven league". You can see it on ESPN and NFLN, just watch the highlights-it's mostly the big play TD passes that they show over and over again. It's kinda what happened with the NBA when it became a gigantic dunk-a-thon highlight reel. I don't agree with Woodson's or the general consensus that it HAS changed all that much-or if it did it seems to be maybe changing back.
rillo
No pass rush = loss. I think the jets have the better team except for QB, if the jets can't get to brady, it's going to be a long night. I hope Rex has a scheme or two for this defense, because there is no pass rush this year. I hope i'm wrong and the jets pull this win out, but I just don't see it happening. Sharrow
Imo, all we need is to be with them at halftime, and not have the defense fold in the 4th quarter. If the team plays 60 minutes without a bunch of penalties, then we'll beat the hell out of them. Problem is that they haven't done that much this year. Boozer76
I expect us to beat the crap out of NE. Not just beat them, not just hand with them, not just show up, I mean beat them down so bad their will is shattered. We have a damn good team, and we have yet to see what they're capable of doing when EVERY aspect of the team plays to the level they are capable at the same time. We're better than NE on SpT's, Defense, and Offense overall. I would take every aspect of our team over theirs. While our QB is not as good as Brady, we have better receivers, RB's, OL, and Keller is better than Hernandez/Gronkowski. Overall I'd take our offense over theirs. We're going to beat the snot out of them.

It comes from knowing that you can beat the crap out of the other team. They may lose the game, but they will win the fight. They can and will bang with anybody. If the Pats win it will be with wimpy short passes and tricky pick plays. The Jets will be punching them in the face the whole time.
