Meadowland's Security acting like TSA

Quick question, I have been going to several games over the years and never had any issues. BUT !!! When I went to enjoy my Jets play on thanksgiving day, I was stopped and told I could not enter with a helmet. Now when I said I have always worn my pilot helmet to the game, I'm a veteran and I have this pilot helmet in show of support of my team. They claims it's always been a rule no helmets or hard hats. It seems they make rules up as they go because I saw fireman ed wearing his helmet and waving it around. So what gives? Does anyone have any ideas on this. I am about to cancel tickets and start enjoying the games at the local pubs.

I always walk in with an open water (cap skillfully concealed). Last week some security douchebag was feeling his oats and made me throw it out. The other guy standing there with him just looked at him with that "WTF" look on his face, but i guess he was of a lower rent a cop rank than the big shot. Of course, 5 steps inside the gate I could then buy a $5 water, but I didn't. Eff them.

I heard people behind me at the Thanksgiving Day game saying that they put bottles of water (with the caps) in a bag that they had their young son carry in...the son was waved right on through with no search, not even the bag and that is how they got it in. So if you want to bring liquor into the stadium just bring your kid to the game and use them as a mule

I bring my kid every week, but unfortunately he is bigger than me so I'm not sure that will work.
