Klecko73isGod
Just got an HTC EVO from Sprint and heard about an app called Jam11 which allows you to somehow listen to you iTunes library without actually syncing with your phone. I guess it remote accesses your computer and you can listen to your music. Has anyone tried this? Is there another way to do this? I've got well over 5,000 songs in my iTunes library. I have an iPod classic which has more than enough memory to handle it but it would be great to not have to carry around both devices. There's no way I can fit all that music onto my phone so this Jam11 sounds promising. But would I have to be near my computer or could I stream my iTunes library at work while my computer is home? Maxman
I used double twist to copy everything from itunes to the phone. I like that program, it automatically syncs. I download songs on Amazon and no matter where they are saved on my hard drive, it copies them to the droid. Not sure about the program you mentioned. Just glad to hear that another droid fan is on board!
Klecko73isGod
Just set up jam11 on the phone and my computer and holy crap! It friggin' works flawlessly! I have access to my entire music library, playlists, podcasts, you name it. No need to load music into a device. No worries about a lack of memory. I think my iPod just became irrelevant. Klecko73isGod
Just set up jam11 on the phone and my computer and holy crap! It friggin' works flawlessly! I think my iPod just became irrelevant. 1st big test: Jam11 working just as flawlessly in the office as it did at home! I am now even more happy with my purchase of the HTC Evo! No more plugging the iPod into the computer and syncing whenever I add new music to the library. No more quirky Apple glitches like the iPod automatically skipping to the next song without anyone touching it.
Klecko73isGod
My iPod died over the weekend. Hadn't used the jam11 app since I last posted in this thread, primarily because the iPod had more and better playback options making it more versatile. I also got a new computer over the weekend and holy crap this app kicks serious a$$. I think the sound quality is better than the iPod.

Jetman_67
I have the EVO also and I love it ill have to check out that app I got the My Touch 4G, and Double Twist syncs the media fine. Syncing contacts, calendars, tasks etc with the Mac is a nightmare with Android. got rid of it in favor of a iPhone 3G. That syncs flawlessly with the Macbook Pro

isired
I haven't had any problems with Double Twist.... I did - and I think I used an older version of Jam, or something that offered the same service, several months ago, but it wouldn't work all the time, so half the time I wouldn't have it during my commutes. I use iSyncr to sync selected playlists (can't hold all my music on SD card). I'll have to try Jam11 and DoubleTwist again. Because you didn't ask, some other favorite droid apps (not icluding the obvious/iPhone retreads like Bump, all of the barcode scanners, retro camera apps, etc.): AppBrain to manage apps - can make lists of apps prior to install, helps a lot if you have to re-install everything (had to get phone replaced after bad headphone jack). CabSense NYC - uses NYC.gov pickup/dropoff data to tell you where you're most likely to get a cab at (takes time of day, day of week, etc. into account. Seems to work). CEIVA Snap - if you have a CEIVA frame, you can send photos directly from phone. Expensify - expense account keeper, take photos of receipts etc. Goggles - ID's products, logos, ads, images, etc. - QR codes on steroids. Google Sky Map - awesome app - point your cam at the sky, shows you where/what the constellations are. Handcent - better test messaging. Layar - not really useful yet, but interesting AR app. NFL Mobile (Verizon only?) ScoreCenter (ESPN scores/news app) SiriusXM Ski Report - reports, and allows live posts from skiers. Tapatalk Pro - messageboard access - needs to be enabled on board (ahem...) Google Voice - replaced my voicemail with this - free 'visual' voicemail, transcribes voicemails, etc.

I have a bunch of those already but will check out that text messaging one. About tapatalk -- I don't like that app because end users have to pay to use it. Didn't install it for that reason, I actually bought it to test it out, I know other sites use it. We have a mobile skin and iphone app here. ahem, lol.... But I can't underline, like I could if I were on TapaTalk. BTW, the reader is free, you only pay the 3 bucks to be able to post.
spacemanspiffnf
Love my HTC EVO 4G, but make sure get a good case that protects the camera lense as well. Had a case on mine, but somehow I still cracked the camara's lense (the outer clear plastic piece.) Heard Otter Box makes awesome cases, my friend has the Defender but it makes the phone a little too big IMO. They have smaller cases too.
Jetman_67
I haven't had any problems with Double Twist.... Double Twist syncs media to the Droid, but not Calendars, Contacts and tasks. I need to have those synced more than anything else. The iPhone syncs great with a Mac. I lost a lot of data speed but for business use, the other stuff is more important.
