Jet27
Ok there are many experts out there in the media/NFL talking heads. Here is how we will win: 1. From a statistical standpoint, we own the Pats in almost every category. Holding true to form I dont see the Pats playing a wait and see field position game. I see them trying to force the issue. 2. With that said, they will start Brady from the no-huddle right from the start. 3. We have shut down every deep threat in the NFL. But that does not mean the Pats will try. They will. However we have the best corners in the AFC so that match up is a wash. 4. They will also attempt to pound the ball at us. And we are one of the best at shutting down the running game by that I mean giving up less that 100 yards. 5. So where does that leave Brady and the offense? If the deep threat is taken away, and the running game is stuffed? Short yardage passing, with Brady in the Shot gun. 6. They have in essensce two weapons, Welker-Woodhead and the Tightends. 7. This then translates to a one-dimensional offense. However, this one-dimensional offense can wreak lesser defensive teams (as been proven). 8. The Jet defense will withstand the quick start attempt of the Pats and will do just enough to keep the game very close. 9. The Jet running game will pound the line of scrimmage using both backs. I see long drives by the Jets and time of posession. There will be those times when the Pats will adjust. But then I dont see the Pats defense forcing Sanchez to win the game. I see the Pats defense trying to be the most aggressive its been. And that is something that they must try to do if they have a chance to beat us. So in my opinion, watch for multiple blitz packages coming at the Jets (basically the same packages both the Ravens and Packers showed). Both of those can be stopped with a two-headed run package. And then can be exploited with quick slants. Once those slants are run, then the Jets will have the Pats on their heals all night long. 10. The Pats can counter the above with field position because they do have a good retrun guy. However field position alone will not translate to 6 points 100% of the time. The Jets have the best special teams play of any team in the NFL, so this basically also negates field position play as a main contributotr to the Pats winning the game. 11. The one intangible is will the Jets defense out physical the Pats? If the Jets defense does this...the Jets win this game going away. Look for this to be a critical aspect of this game. 12. In the end regardless of field position and penalties, the Pats are one dimensional, Brady wont be able to attack them deep, The Pats running game will be stopped. And Brady will be forced to throw upwards of 40 or more times. This falls into the Jets strength. Jets win this game. And come 11:30pm we are 10-2. P.S. I just hope the officials dont F it up!!!!! JiF
The Jets will win tonight if the the 4th quarter ends the Jets are leading the game. To try and predict this game is very tough. First of, all common knowledge and what you think you know about the 2 teams is out the window because its division rival and these games never go the way they are supposed to. Secondly, the weather conditions are going to be intense, which I think favors the Jets but it makes predictions very tough...especially for the Pats who are a pass first offense. Too hard to predict and as this season as shown, the Jets are hard to predict, but at least they find ways to win.

Nothing intense about that. It's going to a normal December night in Foxboro.

I was hoping to watch the snot bubbles coming out of Brady's helmet freeze and shatter on the way down but it has to be below 20 degrees for that. Can't have everything. Our little Southern Cali QB had no problem winning in Cincinnati in the freeze a$$ cold in the playoffs last year and they had a much better defense than the Pats. The weather will not impact the Sanchize. He has the best hands on the team which will only help him as we start playing in bad conditions

This is true...hopefully he only has to attempt 15 passes this time too. The weather will not impact the Sanchize. Klecko73isGod
Oh... and we beat that team by punching them in the fricken mouth on every play. Amen brother. I want to physically dominate this team from start to finish. I want the humiliation to be total.
Jetfan13
I order to win tonight we MUST stop their TE's. You all know the trouble we have covering the middle of the field. I think we need to put a LB on the TE and bump him out of his rythem, then either drop to the middle in coverage or have safety help to pick him up. Their TE's scare me more then anything, but they are rooks, so maybe we can pressure them into a mistake or 2.. oh yea, and hit Cindy HARD AND OFTEN !!! DMaynard
I would like to be surprised with: - A Brad Smith option pass. Or two. - David Harris frequently used as a blitzer - Throwing on 1st down in the first three quarters of the game - Throwing numerous slant passes to Edwards and Holmes - Revis on Welker all game Do those things, and I think we will be surprised at how easily the Jets will win. JerryK
Could I ask a Defense question? (I admit I don't pay any attention to X's O's for D) There's a lot of talk about the TE's getting open underneath... Is there any scheme that would send blitzers not for the QB but to just knock the TE's on their butt at the line?

Is there any scheme that would send blitzers not for the QB but to just knock the TE's on their butt at the line? Nice question actually there is...its a modified 3-4, by that I mean you shift the downline men and step up the LB's...the MLB drops back and "ghosts" the SS TE. In a two TE setup, same applies but one LB plays man-to-man...that LB is set-up 5 yards off the LOS...Trust me on this..Pats wont win the game using a two TE setup on the Jets. If the TE's were seasoned Vets that would be a major problem...but not these two. Also that is predicated on Brady NOT being in a shot gun and having a singleback and then using that back to pound the line a scrimmage...wont work on the Jets defense.....
