visajets
For hes a jolly good which nobody can deny. BUT he needs to worry less about preparing for amusing pressers and more about preparing his team for a football game.
Guest Jpf4671
I'm going to preface this by saying I love Rex and and think he's the best thing to happen to us in decades, ok here's the but....he basically picked a fight with the toughest guy on the block and the toughest guy made an example of him. From the minute the bengles game ended to the minute last night ended Rex had his worst 12 days as a pro. He antagonized belecheck right after the bengles game, and from the sounds of it we had an awful practice week, if you read some of the quotes it sounds like Rex handled the leanord injury poorly, " anonymous jet" was quoted saying Rex was visiably shaken up 3 days before kickoff about it. And then last night he was just an in-game disaster........all in all you have to say he handled this 10 day layoff about as bad as you could ever imagine. DireJet38
Fat Man got taught a brutal lesson last night. I wouldn't be surprised if he cried himself to sleep mid cheeseckacke binge. He was made into a total fraud last night. The worst part about it? He took all of us down the cliff with him. Just an inexcusable performance by a team that has the ******* gall to mention "Super Bowl" every other sentence. What a ******* joke. OREGON would put up 35 points on this disorganized "best-in-the-league" defensive unit. Hey, Rex, your defense ******* BLOWS. You have NO game-changers in the front 7. Jets Voice of Reason
I highly doubt it's from lack of effort or him being a distraction. That being said, he needs to be more accountable for the embarrassing performance of the team. I'm fine with the fun and games, but when you need to crack the whip, you crack the whip. He has to learn from this and be a coach and not their friend right now.

I told a friend this morning, Rex learned a lesson that I learned when I was a kid... no matter how tough you think you are, no matter how strong you think you are, there is always, ALWAYS someone tougher and stronger. I learned this in the context of sports, I had many friends learn it behind the school or in back alleys getting their faces pummeled, but not matter the context I've never known anything to be any truer... So be respectful of your opponent, be respectful of the game, work hard and don't be the guy that needs to be made an example of, be the guy teaching the lesson. LionelRichie
I think everyone is making too much of this loss, a loss is a loss and they all count the same. last season we suffered through multiple "season crushing" losses only to make a run to the AFC Championship game. If anything, I think this was a wake up call and hopefully the Jets can right the ship. A win vs Miami and all is forgotten and we're right back on schedule. He handled it the way Rex Ryan wanted to handle it. He wins this game...nobody is talking about how he handled himself for the week leading up this game. He was plenty respectful of both BB/Brady but he was trying to instill confidence in his team the way Rex Ryan does it. It didnt work. It happens. Totally agree....I can totally understand Rex coming here year and being brash and bold and talkin all kinds of junk. he took over a jet team that had zero identity. mangini was runnin a boot camp and rex had to change the culture here and create a persona. He should have stepped off the gas a bit this year and just focused on being the most prepared team in the league every week.

I agree with your point but if I was solely bashing rex's pressers, I'm more concerned about the leaks about poor practices and guys like revis saying we were "flat" not to mention the in game disaster. Again don't take me the wrong way Im not one of these guys who's gonna want to fire everyone after a loss, I'm just pointing out some things that I think are legit points. Here's an example, Rex is starting to look borderline incompetent when it comes to challenges, starting on opening night with the mason "catch"
visajets
Heres what BB told his team last night in the 4th quarter. Bill Belichick doesn’t give a [bleep] what the score is Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 7, 2010, 11:10 AM EST Patriots coach Bill Belichick gathered his entire team as the fourth quarter was set to begin in Monday night’s laugher. So what was his message? “We’re playing for 60 minutes, I don’t give a [expletive] what the score is”, Belichick said, according to Tom Brady on WEEI Monday night via Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com. The 45-3 beatdown is one Jets coach Rex Ryan will remember. Maybe it was a case of the Patriots trying to mentally bury the Jets. Then again, the attitude and approach is totally consistent with how Belichick has operated throughout his tenure in New England. And it was a message that made sense to drive home after the team struggled in the fourth quarter against the Steelers and Colts. The score and the opponent on Monday night just made things a little sweeter for the Patriots coach. I dont see anything about getting a snack or any humour. Its all about football in the NFL. ZERO. Its 20 minutes out of a weeks worth of work and preparation. He's made some bad decisions, not just challenging, but using time outs and on field decisions, but its not because of something he said or leaked during a presser...its because he's only coached 30 games as a HC. You cant buy experience.

Obviously I'm not in the locker room but I'm a little concerned about why they, according to their best player, came out "flat" last night. I just didn't like a lot of what I was reading all week,. Even last night they seemed ok with taking their beating, if I didn't know any better I would think rex's beloved defense actually quit on him at the end. Hey by the way I can only argue with you until about 1:20 cuz after 20 minutes of fatsessa I'm sure this computer will be smashed into a thousand pieces.
