F.Chowds
Florida football coach Meyer resigns CBSSports.com wire reports Dec. 8, 2010 GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida football coach Urban Meyer is stepping down after the Gators appearance in the Outback Bowl. Meyer led Florida to two national titles but began to show the strain of his high-profile job last season when he briefly quit but then returned to the team. Multiple reports say the school has scheduled a 6 p.m. ET news conference to make the announcement. In a statement released by the university Wednesday, Meyer says "it is time to put my focus on my family and life away from the field." He says the decision to resign was "a difficult one." JiFtheOracle
Hopefully he stays retired. I will always respect what Urban did in a short period of time, but this season was 100% on coaching. Probably the worst coaching job I've ever seen at UF. He was awful. His team was awful, his offense was the worst I've ever seen and you cant get away with losing 3 games at home, 2 of those game to teams who the Gators have never lost to at home (Miss St./USC). I wonder if he is headed to Denver?

Greenranger
Maybe Bellicheat is retiring after this year and he's going to NE. They're real good buddies.

There is a vacancy in Denver and his favorite QB was taken in the first round by that team....just saying
dolphann4life
This really hurts UM in finding their coach now having to compete with the Gaytors.
Matt39
When the going get tough....apparently Urban doesnt get going. Maybe they'll leave the state of Florida for an out of conference game for once now.
Vudu
Didnt he already quit for "health' issues then came back when Tebow announced he was coming back? Now he quits when they suck?
jetscanes331
I think Mullen from MSU will take the UF Job... he was OC there before he pumped life into MSU's program. Holding out for Tubberville for miami.. he's coached there before and has expressed interest. UF also would have 0 interest in a smaller guy like Edsall from UCONN who is rumored to be high on UM's list.

I'd love Leach.. canes fans seem to be pretty torn about him though. He'd bring fire and intensity and get the most out of the recruits down there... but he's a little risky for the administration. He's also come out and said he would love the job and what a great opportunity it would be and how they'd do big things.

Kirby and the troll are gonna really make noise with their "HOMERUN" hire of Randy Edsall. They'll be lucky to get 20k anygame besides Ohio State next year
JiFtheOracle
This really hurts UM in finding their coach now having to compete with the Gaytors. No what hurts UM is their facilities, playing a half hour away from campus and playing in the ACC Its not the job it once was, but I really would like you to bounce back. When the going get tough....apparently Urban doesnt get going. Maybe they'll leave the state of Florida for an out of conference game for once now. Ha! Good one. Urban's a punk but when you play in the SEC and you have FSU on the road every other year, and throw in the U on that cycle too...you dont need to Didnt he already quit for "health' issues then came back when Tebow announced he was coming back? Now he quits when they suck? No. He retired for health reasons after last season, Tebow's senior year. I think Mullen from MSU will take the UF Job... he was OC there before he pumped life into MSU's program. I'm pretty sure its a done deal. He didnt sign an extension last week and there is a plane in route right now to Starkville. Mullen will be the next UF Head Coach, and quite frankly, I'm stoked. Charlie Strong and him were the brains behind the operation.
