The Official JN Sal Alosi Discussion Thread

I also posted this in the should alosi be fired poll thread, but felt it would make a good thread.

Steve Tasker said this kind of stuff happens all the time...

"You think this is the first time [a trip] ever happened? Come on," Tasker said. "Guys were always giving me extra shoves. You don't want to see someone get hurt, but it's not a big deal. Why wouldn't you give a guy a forearm shiver? Everyone on the sideline is part of a team and they all want to win. Shoot, even the doctors are competitive."

Still doesnt make this right, but I thought this was interesting.

Interesting enough to start a new thread apparently.

I love Tasker....he was thrown out of his last professional game.

And I kind of agree with him...this whole "it was a disgusting act" is wayyyyyy over the top.

The guy made a quick millisecond dumb decision and people are trying to crucify him.

In the article Zach Thomas says the whole sideline looks like they were in on it and planning creating a wall to prevent Carroll from getting down the field untouched...but Zach Thomas looks like a big headed Dinosaur so who listens to him

The league should ban him from the sidelines of NFL games for life. I am sure they would have done so if this had been done by a newspaper cameraman. If the Jets can still use him as a conditioning coach next year. His job requires him access to the weight room during practices not he is not needed on the sideline during games.

The rules were a little different when he played, though. You were allowed to run the sidelines back then, so players and coaches had to police it themselves. Once the rule was put in place, I guess the practice has gone underground because no one seems to want to admit to doing it. There is no doubt in my mind that these guys were told to make sure that the gunner wasn't cutting through the coach's box.

He should be fired. You dont do that. He could have really hurt that dude running at full speed like that. Its one thing to dislike a team, its another thing to cheat.

If the Patriots conditioning coach did that we'd be calling for his head.

Damn you and your stupid sig / avatar bet. Between that and your post I was thinking you were some whiny bitch Dolphins fan. :P

They were creating a wall on the SIDELINE. It's not like they were on the field.....

I totally agree Matt. Those jerk offs on ESPN are treating it like Alosi stabbed the guy. Anybody mention that the gunner should have been flagged for not trying to get back on the field. Christ the guy was 2 1/2 yards out of bounds for 30 yards.

Isn't the game supposed to be played between the sidelines? LOL I thought the Fins had an unsportsmanlike penalty called on them for doing the same thing on a prior punt.

Further "inside" proof that the Jets coaches have to resort to cheating in order to lose games.

The already infamous play during the Dolphins-Jets game Sunday - when a member of New York's staff intentionally tripped Dolphins rookie Nolan Carroll as he sped down the sideline - was more than the random act of a rogue coach, former Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas said Tuesday.

It was part of the Jets' strategy, he said.

"There's more to this story," Thomas, who experienced the Dolphins-Jets rivalry for 11 seasons, said Tuesday on WQAM-560.

He believes that Jets strength coach Sal Alosi, who stuck out his left knee to trip Carroll, was under orders to stand as close to the sideline as possible to impede the progress of any player flying down the field.

Dude I hate you and think you are a complete and utter coward and only shows up when the times are good...but this is one of the funniest lines I've seen in a long time.

Never mind how completely bogus the article is.

Congrats.

hey dumbass......standing on the sideline like that is not cheating. your boy running the length of the length of the field out of bounds is though. the knee was cheating though. i seriously doubt he was told to trip the guy. he was probably told to stand there. nothing wrong with that.

why doesn't thomas tell us why carroll is running the length of the field out of bounds anyway. isn't that against the rules? a bunch of guys standing out of bounds shoudln't affect the game.

Hahaha thanks.

To be honest, I think I've grown out of my "trolling" phase of life. But, for some reason this thread title came to me while reading the article, and I had an overwhelming urge to share it with the fine people of JetNation.com

Does it say anything about why the Dolphin's gunner was illegally running out of bounds?

No, mostly because what he wasn't illegal, or against the NFL rules.

There's only so many concussions a person can have before you just have to accept whatever they say as adorable.

That's hilarious and I plan on using it for an upcoming Wayne Cherbet quote.

No but it did mention that Aliens where seen dancing the Macarena and keeping their fins up at J Lo's and Marc Anthonies crib to celebrate the win.

Ugh, I hate that fins up crap.

I feel ya. Its really does have to be hard to be a troll on a Jets message board. I mean, there's only so much material you can use...40 years, fat coach, gay QB, New Jersey, you suck. Things we've heard for so long that they actually have zero impact.

The thread title is o.k. Good enough for me to open, but the subject line was grand slam.

Umm, actually it is. So much so in fact that the same guy was penalized for doing just that on the Dolphins punt that immediately preceded the punt that Alosi kneed him on.

Did you even watch the game Superfan?

This crap is really starting to bother me. Thomas is an idiot. I felt bad for the guy who was tripped, but I must say after all this bs fallout from something that happens all the time, I wish Alosi would have leveled him!

Get a life fag fan. Your team should stick out their chest like your coach ordered because they looked impressive Sunday. I mean 130 yards of offense and five whole completions. Record breaking performance. To "shut down" the JETS high powered offense is hall of fame worthy of your defense. Be loud be proud, be a fag fan!
