Rex on the verge of losing the team

Let me start by saying I have always been a Jets fan. I love the team and always will.

But, I have seen this before.

Rex is losing this team. You can't call out the defense like he did yesterday that's a tactical mistake.

You can't have a guy on the sideline "tripping a player".

You cannot stand by and week in and week out see your offense deteriorate away and not take control.

Where is the in game ajustments?

All the talking and right now he has placed in front and center as the NFL's poster child or laughing stock.

It is clear, after yesterday's loss, we were not prepared to play the Pats at a high level, and we did not show up again offensively.

Rex and the front office and the OC are to blame. I dont want to hear that one dropped pass in the end zone was the reason we lost yesterday, because we must have one fragile team then.

And that's not the case. Clearly Sanchez is pressing and you truly cant place the entire blame on him. The OL cannot even stop a 3 man rush in the Pats game and yesterday his passes were being batted down. He is now a one dimensional, desparate to make a play QB in his second year. Where is the coaching? Where is the running game? Where is the imagination in offense, there isnt any. Where are the game time adjustments? What about the horrendous clock management very late in the 4th quarter? Spiking the ball after you had finally a "big play"...Thats not on Sanchez, thats coaching.

All the talk this year from Rex, all the bravado and our team is now a big laughing stock.

Rex needs to stop the cheerleading and coach football and have a plan.

Calling out the defense yeaterday was just stupid. He is about to lose the team.

I hope everything I wrote hear is wrong and I have got everything incorrect.

But, he has this week to fix what is wrong create a game plan for success against a tough opponent and play hard nose football on both sides of the ball.

Stop talking Rex and Coach and lead.

Im with you one hundred percent.

I do think, on the defensive side of the ball, I like what they do with in game adjustments. Ther have been a couple of games where we come out in the 2nd half, and dominate after giving up a couple of scores or whatever.

On the offense, I get pissed because Rex, as a defensive guy should see that HIS offense sucks, and he as the head ******* coach, should do MORE about it. Announcing that he is having lunch dates with his star QB, no sh*t sherlock, you should be meeting with him whenever you want, why is that news.

I would have loved nothnig more than for him to fire Schotty on the ******* sideline, that would send a message without moving his damn lips.

Exactly, I say get Rex & Shot outta here go after Jon Gruden and a proven OC...

I agree that he may lose this team. He needs to make changes. If this team ends up 9-6 needing a win at home against Buffalo thats where it will come to a head. They will lose, im sure of it n im sure most of u r. A collapse here would be devestating and the end of the ryan era regardless if he still has a job after its over.

He just got a contract extension. He's not going anywhere, even if we loose the rest of the games.

Although its too early to can Rex you have to be worried about the discipline on this team (or the lack of it). They end up hurting themselves more than the opposition with untimely penalties or bonehead plays. I think last year the team was still in transition from an authoritarian like Mangini so the discipline was still pretty high. Its something to watch for, this stuff usually happens with player coaches as the years progress. I will always prefer the disciplinarian type coaches, I don't care if the players will run through a brick wall for a coach I just want to know there will be 11 men on the field and they will know the snap count.

Oh and really I think its time to move in a different direction at offensive coordinator before we talk of canning Sanchez.

wow, i never, ever , ever, ever, expected Rex Ryans fall from grace to happen quicker than Herm Edwards and Mangenius! Isnt Rex the same guy who won the "which coach would you like to play for" poll by a landslide!?

This is what happens on our first 2 game losing streak of the season!! 9-4 fellas!

To be followed by "9-5 fellas!","9-6 fellas!" and "9-7 is still a winning season, fellas!"

ill take 9-7 if it gets me to the AFC championship game like it did last year BOB! dont we all realize at this point that regular season record has nothing to so with success in the playoffs! JUST GET IN AND PEAK AT THE RIGHT TIME!!

Yeah, and we've almost had a perfectly steady regress since Week 2.

This is why I have a hard time taking you guys seriously. Rex inherited a medicore team and took a rookie quarterback to the AFC championship. Then, with 3 games remaining in his 2nd season, he has matched his win total for the previous year. It's not all smiles and rainbows, but it's one of the best eras of Jets football so far AND it has only just begun.

Lost? And the Dolphins a pretty good team? Child please.

Its not about the teams we lost to, its how we looked when we lost. Look at our 4 losses. Our Offense cannot get started for 4 qtrs. Ravens couldnt get started, Packers couldnt get started, Pats the O and D couldnt get started, and the Fins the Offense couldnt get started.

This is an Offensive coordinator/Head coaching fault here. I include Rex because win or lose he's the head coach. We give him all the credit when they win...well, that goes both ways even if it is the fact that we needed a new OC since last season. Its Rex job to put together the best coaching staff.

Rex has failed in the OC department IMO. Rex stays of course, but if he doesnt get this fixed then his incompetence to the situation will leave no choice but to subtract him as well.

For now Rex Ryan's job is VERY safe because even with a moron OC he's 9-4, and at one time 9-2. To be honest, we should be 12-1. The only convincing win was the Patriots thrashing of us. We lost to the Ravens 10-9, the Pack 9-0 and the Fins this past sunday.

Shotty has literally lost football games. Soon, that will be playoff games just like his daddy.

I am looking at our entire team objectively and sometimes its hard to do that. However, how do we constantly have 12 men on the field? How do we week in and week out have bone head penalties...and some by the same freakin guys? We have heard all year we are ground and pound from Monday to saturday and then on game day, Sanchez is trying to be like Marino! Why are we running plays at the slots with LT, when his game is running to the outside?

Regardless of the above, I dont care if we lost to the Pats, but to lose 45-3 there is a major problem top to bottom, and then to follow up that loss with the performance on Sunday is ridiculous if you want to be considered an "elite" team, which right now they are not.

We have clock management issues going on as well.

We have a second year QB, who is clearly pressing to make something happen, but the OC and by default the HC are directly responsible for his performance.

Where is the in game adjustments on both sides of the ball?

Yes we were 9-2, and now we are 9-4. I just dont want us to be 9-7. And then we are saying oh well we have a winning season..Thats BS. Thats not good enough and if that happens thats on the coaching staff who allowed the season to slip because they had NO answers to correct the fall. And if that is the case..what do we do?

Starting right now, Rex has got to take control of the situation, make sure the OC has a ball control, conservative game plan using our running game as the primary weapon against Pitt. And backup the running game with high percentage passes.

Thats was the formula last year...if not, we will be 9-5 come sunday night.

It's getting better. we had 9 men on the field on defense at the goal line against the Dolphins. it cost us another time out. but thank goodness it wasn't 12.

You're questioning the defense now? They could have put four men on the field, the Dolphins scored 10 points despite being handed the ball in Jets territory on successive drives? 5 completions? 130 yards of offense allowed? Yes, let's question Ryan's being able to handle the defense. That's sane. NOT

I think his point is that great teams (like the Jets keep calling themselves) don't continuously have bumbling mistakes like that on either side of the ball week after week (especially on defense, and I mean not knowing how many guys are on the field at the goal line). it happened twice in Detroit and 2 to's. but they won and were called great and resilient. the defense played well, but the bumbling under pressure situations is troubling.

Your missing my point, I clearly said that he should not have called out the defense, but 12 men, 10 men 9 men thats coaching...it points to a guy that is struggling..come on that is clearly the case here. And he needs to take control of the team...lets see come sunday against Pitt....

Jon Gruden? Is that the guy that ran the Bucs into the ground after the the big SB win against a team where he knew the playbook inside and out? Please tell me you are joking. BTW, Rex has not lost the team, not sure where you are getting that from unless it is the Ellis quote, which isn't really that inflamatory.

I don't give a flying **** about his point. I'm not responding to "his point". I'm responding to what he's said.

I don't think I have to say anything else. Check the stats and the records. Remember when the Pats lost to the Browns? You'd be the guy over there posting the fire Belichick. Seems silly, doesn't it?

I dont want to get rid of Rex. I want him to get his head out of his a$$. he is a good coach, but he spends too much time trying to be a media darling and it's effecting the team. spend more of that energy on fixing the problems instead of game planning for each press conference.
