Cabelas, is the place to go. my friends and i do 2 or 3 day trips a year there, plus stop when we head down to the races in mechanicsburg. my only problem is i go there for or 2 things but i walk about with about $400 worth of stuff. between the 4 of us our record for spending in one day is about $1800. best place on earth.

they have been planning to put on in at the meadowlands for the last couple years, but theyve pulled out a few times because of funding and what not. and because NJ gun laws suck

Speaking of outdoor stores...I went to REI a few weeks back. YUCK! Snooty outdoors people....bark mulch powerbars, snow shoes and $900 jackets. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Horrible. I still have nightmares about that place.

How often do you go to Williams Grove? Great 1/2 mile dirt track!

I like Cabelas better than Bass Pro.

Visa, have you ever worn those Sorel pack boots? I used to wear them ice fishing up in Maine and stuff.

Sorels are the best boots for being in the snow. hands down. your feet stay warm and dry.

I had a pair of Sorel Cold Mountain boots I wore them once. I gave them to my son. He know enjoys them. Problem is I cant find another pair anywhere. I think they may have stopped making them? All the newer styles of boots are way too high for me.

As far as Cabelas only being for hunters. I disagree they sell alot of stuff I own for tailgating and camping.

Ya its a great place. I dont go so much anymore, now that my buddy isnt racing. I used to go like 9 or 10 times a year, 6 or 7 to watch my friend race, and than i was always there for when the World of Outlaws came to town.

I live about 1 hour from the track, dont get there as much as I would like but have been to victory lane with my friend Donnie Kreitz Jr a couple of times when he beat the Outlaws.

i love being in the pits and watching the race from the top of the rig. I'm about 3 hours from there and sometimes took off of work and drove down with the rig, but more times than not, id take a half day leave about 3ish stop at cabelas for a bit and get there right at the end of time trials. its a great place to spend a friday/saturday.

Word Jim.

Standing on ice all day, I was never cold.

I used to do tree work when I was a young buck (late teens to early 20's) and we would work with snow on the ground or when the temp was 2 degrees out. keeping your hands and feet warm were always the biggest problems. the sorel's took care of my feet all the time. I used to put hand warmers in my chest pockets (and those were the old kind that you had to light the wick thing, now they have those shaky bags) so I could keep my hands warm.

+1 I've got a pair of Sorel Arctic Pac boots that I bought 25 years ago. I've replaced the felt liners a couple times, but that's all. I used to wear mine ice fishing, too.

Around the cabin, I used to wear just the liners.

They sorta felt like Uggs with no soles...I mean, thats what Ive heard.

Gander Mountain is also a good place to go. It has alot of stuff and i have found it more reasonably priced than Cabelas.

When I was purchasing tailgating stuff, Gander's website had cheaper prices for Igloo coolers than Igloo's site.
