It is a shame that after big Jets games, this site just cant handle the traffic. I think it is the best Jets forum on the internet but it sucks I have to go to some of the others because I cant log on this site.

WIth that said, Go JETS. Please beat the piss out of the Pats*

Feel free to start your own Jets website.

Why do you all get so sensitive and make the same response everyone says something off key about the site? We come here religiously dont we? We support this website religiously dont we? Why bash us with your bullsh*t sarcasm talking about starting our own site? Obviously we like it here which is why a gross majority of us come back daily. That doesnt mean the site cant use some improvements. <_<

You're right. I'm sorry.

Don't start your own Jets website.

Hey guys I understand your frustration completely. We watched the server all night and I was on the road when it went down, was driving back home. Otherwise the downtime would have been much shorter.

It is unacceptable and I do apologize for it. We are going to move to a cloud environment in the offseason. That means we have the ability to scale up for peak volume. Until then we might restrict things more during game time, we can disable guest viewing during the game to keep things running smooth.

We do take this seriously, the two dedicated servers that we have cost over $400 per month. All things told the site costs well over $500 per month. As far as I know the only real problems we had all season were tonight and the Patriots game. Trust me though, I am happy to see this kind of thread. If the Jets won a game like this and nobody wanted to come here, that's when I would be worried.

Thanks everyone, I assure you we are always trying our best to keep things running smooth.

Wow Max thats a lot of $$$$$$, I hope you're getting some return on your investments.

Thank you for respectfully replying to us without the unnecessary sarcastic drivel.

I honestly had no idea sites cost that much to operate, I thought u just paid a monthly free to some random online hosting company. Shows how much I know.

You know these sites are not cheap to operate and it is happening less frequently that on the old system.

Dedicated servers are steep. We pay 120k a year for a huge cloud environment with load balancers/etc to handle the traffic. Dedicated gets expensive QUICK. Cloud will help here because 90-95% of the tome load is reasonable so max will only have to pay extra 5% of the time.

Looked like SQL was a big problem tonight though

Cut max a break though. Hea a jets fan and wants to enjoy the game too

I do get a return, by hanging out with the coolest Jets fans out there. :D

The site is profitable, so there are no worries there. I threw out the #s to show that we do take this seriously, basically pouring everything back in. Like aec4 said in the post below, it is just expensive.

We will lock it down a bit more next week. Some days here there are over 10,000 visitors site wide. It adds up after a big win but I definitely understand the frustration. And we appreciate your loyalty to this site.

If you are running any SQL performance tracker its easy to track down and optimize SQL performance.

Thanks for the great response Max and thank you for having this great place we can all hang out at and thanks for not charging us to be here

If Newsday ends up being right and people start paying for content we will do that. :D Just kidding -- not how the web works. All we want is people to have a home to talk football. Some

Really man, thank you and everyone that comes here for Jets news. The site gets better and better because this community grows and so many people give their time to help the site. The moderators, Greenbeans and Tyson all do so much.

People don't realize how much Tyson does for this site...it is incredible.
