Same old Mets

Phil Hughes, steroid washout. So there.

Hughes just sucked period. Mental midget California kid that had average stuff from the get go. He was never the same after the freakin hammy injury while he was pitching the no-no.

There have been a lot of dudes in MLB over the last two seasons that mysteriously lost 5 MPH on their heater or who went from having upper deck power to barely having warning track power. I'm goofing around about Hughes, but, damn, he looks like one of those guys. Hell, David Wright looks like one of those guys.

Could be. BTW, what the hell is Tulowitzki taking and when will he be a Yankee?

This is a very dumb statement. He's sucking because he doesn't have his stuff that he's had his entire career.

His entire career? lol, he's 24. He doesnt have the stuff because he sucks.

Hughes was never a power guy anyways. He busted his hammy and he lost velocity. His season last year was wildly overrated to begin with.

Pre hammy he was 94. Lasy year he was around 92. This year he's batting practice.

Joba throwing 98MPH cheese though

He's up and down. Sometimes we'll see flashes of pre injury Joba...I still dont trust him though.

He was 94-96 all year last season and he's 89-91 now. Huge difference. Nice that we have you to tell us that a guy who won 18 games last year with good peripherals "sucks" because he's hurt or going through a dead arm period.

Since when do you care about wins? He wasnt great last season.

Hughes was never at 96 last year. Pre hammy he had a pretty electric fastball...but he's been downhill since that moment.

Jason Bay makes the line-up very different and they respond when he is in there.

What does this mean?

The team wins when he is in the line-up. The Mets have a much better record with Bay in the line-up than when he is not in there.

You are welcome.

That's more coincidence than anything right now. If the Mets go on a 5 game skid with him in the lineup, then what?

The team is playing better baseball, that's why they're winning. They're pitching better and hitting better. Guys aren't trying harder because Jason Bay is in the lineup.

Based on last years results and what little there is this year, the team seems to respond (win more) with Jason Bay in the line-up.

That is a fact. Can't be disputed.

Whether that will be the long term result, who knows.

Ok. They're a better team with Bay...no one is disputing that. Guys dont "respond" to his presence. It's baseball.
