Scott Dierking 134,760 Posted April 18, 2011 Plenty of room on Cubbie bandwagon for any Mets fans thinking of defecting. Prerequisite = gotta love misery. Do Mets fans qualify? This is getting close to the late 70's misery that Met fans had to endure.
Scott Dierking 134,760 Posted April 28, 2011 Jason Bay makes the line-up very different and they respond when he is in there.
Scott Dierking 134,760 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) What does this mean? The team wins when he is in the line-up. The Mets have a much better record with Bay in the line-up than when he is not in there. You are welcome. Edited April 28, 2011 by Scott Dierking
Scott Dierking 134,760 Posted April 28, 2011 That's more coincidence than anything right now. If the Mets go on a 5 game skid with him in the lineup, then what? The team is playing better baseball, that's why they're winning. They're pitching better and hitting better. Guys aren't trying harder because Jason Bay is in the lineup. Based on last years results and what little there is this year, the team seems to respond (win more) with Jason Bay in the line-up. That is a fact. Can't be disputed. Whether that will be the long term result, who knows.
Scott Dierking 134,760 Posted April 28, 2011 Ok. They're a better team with Bay...no one is disputing that. Guys dont "respond" to his presence. It's baseball. My initial response was that the team seems to respond-They win. I think that is a positive thing. Why it happens? Who knows? Maybe it is merely coincidence? Maybe guys are slotted in the order better. Maybe guys are more comfortable in their roles. Maybe the stars align and Jason Bay is the chosen one. The Team RFFHRA certainly peaks with him in there. That can't be disputed.
