you can either blame them or not but the management put this team together to play for THIS YEAR and this year only, and now everything is falling apart.

It would be one thing if all we needed to do was fix one part for next year

as it is we have to fix

RB

QB

OL(completely)

WR

and our secondary...

if we fix 3 of those we can compete again, but thats a lot to do with 0 cap space

Bradway's picks haven't been stellar. Vilma was a no-brainer. We needed a LB. It was Vilma or DJ Williams. Everynone knew it. As for the rest of his picks...for every Coleman there are three Askews, Pouhas, B. Thomas's, etc. The best draft choices to make this team and stick are still from the Parcells/Groh era. His FA acquisitions have been horrendous. Either he's filled solid positions unnecessarily while neglecting gaping holes, or filled holes with mediocrity, or lost talented FA's embarassingly. Barrett, McCareins, Law, Barton, Kendall, Legree, Jolley...all have either under-performed, been overpaid for their contributions, or both. The D-rob deal was a mistake. we lost too much and are paying too much for a very good, but not game-changing D tackle. We've given up solid players like Mickens and Cowart for virtually zero compensation. We've failed to develop any of our half-dozen O-line projects. We haven't aquired any viable veteran depth at many positions. And for all of this our team is paying the price of mediocrity. When the talent carried the front office, many were singing Herm and Bradway's praises. But Bradway has been at least partially responsible for a major watering-down of the talent pool since his arrival. And though many are quick to lynch Herm (and in many cases rightfully so), the real problem lies deeper than a coach who calls bad time outs. The problem is our personnel, and our inability to gradually and systematically upgrade our talent pool through the draft. Instead we've given away picks for little return on our invenstment, and squandered the picks we retained on reaches and projects. That's on Bradway's shoulders.

Compete for what? Another top 5 draft pick.

Those are some huge holes to fill with ZERO money available.

The Jets won't see .500 for the next 3 years.

Alright I will bite. QB is a HUGE problem for this team. HUGE. Chad's contract hurts.

That aside. If they get a LT in Round One (big if) the OLine would be in good shape:

Kendall goes back to guard

Jones back to RT

Kevin back to C

The Oline would be in good shape....with a little age in some spots. BUT....the defense is young.

They can finish over .500 as soon as next year. I am not saying they will win the SuperBowl. Just answering your .500 claim.

You are counting on aging veterans (Mawae and Kendall) to anchor the OLine next year?

Until the Jets make a committment and drastically improve the OLine, it doesn't matter what they do at the QB and RB positions. Have you watched any Texans games? #-o

If Herm/Badway go we are looking at worst 2 more bad years, The Cap flush begins and we will have to cut 10-11 players, including Penne, LAw, fabini, CM....

If Herm stays we are screwed for next 5 years. You think this clown will bench CM, Hell herm will start

'father time' next year.

What has me puzzled is, all the love Herm is getting

from NY and national media? Why would the Chefs actually want this Tony Roberts wanna be! Sh&t it would be worth it to give them a 2nd rd pick to pry this fool from us.

IF its true Ron Wolf wants to come back, this is our ticket to rebuild.

Great Post!

I can not figure out why the media is so in love with Herm. Joe Walton's record as Jets coach was 39-39 in the regular season and 1-3 in the playoffs. Herm is right now 37-36 so IF he goes .500 the rest of the way he is one game better. And the first year herm made the playoffs Walton had the same record but was unable to go due to only 5 teams making it. When Walton was in his last year all the media did was kill this guy. Showing him on the back of the Post picking his nose with a big title "Joe Must Go". Yet people are talking about herm like he is worth a draft pick? It is a ****in joke. Actually WAlton's career mirrors Edwards to the T. Yet the media coverage is totally different.

It isn't that complicated. Access equals good press.
