Steve Jobs is well done but man, Fassbender is just too miscast. Excellent writing and direction and I appreciate the angle they took on the story, because his relationship with his daughter is one of the things that kind of haunted people celebrating his life when he passed. I couldn't help but wonder how it would have been if Bale (who was originally cast) would have done the flick. I'm a huge Fassbender fan, and it's not like he even does a bad job, but he was not right for this one.

I just recorded this, was going to watch it this weekend.

I did see The Magnificent 7.   I liked it.  Good, fun, some good banter between characters, good action.  Solid Popcorn flick that Star Lord and Kingpin on the same side.

I had read a review of 31 that called it "superior trash" and I think that sums it up excellently. I loved it. Like Devil's Rejects it's just a violent blast to watch. I certainly wouldn't put Zombie up with the horror greats (Craven, Carpenter, Cronenberg, Raimi, Romero, Hitchcock...etc), but god damn, the man does what he does well.

I just watched the first 15 minutes of Walter Hills' "The Warriors" on Sundance.  I never laughed so hard.  Forgot his bizarre depiction of NYC street gangs.  They look more like a gathering of the gay tribes.  The Village People thought it was way over the top flamboyant.   lol  Just classic bad.

I will fight you right now

The Accountant

Went to see it last night and we are still talking about it this morning.  That's always a good sign of a good movie.  I thought the plot was very intriguing (adult autistic savant in the mainstream of intrigue) and the script was good.  Acting was very good too (with the obvious exception of Ben Afflec, whom everyone knows can't act at all).  The film goes into detail on his background and upbringing that gives the entire plot a great perspective.  The plot has some obvious flaws but doesn't disappoint with a few surprises and twists.

Highly recommend.  Curious to hear what others think.

Saw The Nice Guys the other night, probably one of my favorite movies of the last few years, absolutely fantastic. Russell Crowe was great, as he always is, but Gosling was absolutely hilarious. Just a great movie.

Saw The Accountant: super far-fetched, loved how they actually spent time with character development of the main character, overall it was entertaining, nothing great, but entertaining. I'm in love with Anna Kendrick, no idea why, but I'm absolutely in love with her.

Brought my Mom to see The Girl on the Train; between that and Gone Girl, I'm not in any rush to get married.  I use residency as my reason not to get married, but in all reality, it's that I'm piss-myself-terrified of women.

I dunno - me thinks the X-Men saga needs a reboot...

I feel like this is in a way...it's not about the X-men saving the world blah blah blah.

This looks dark and takes a completely different spin on the character.  Never thought they'd go here with the Old Man Logan story arch. I'm excited.

No, I like the flick.  It's just so unintentionally silly.  Please don't kick my ass.

It's not that I'm above sleeping with rich, older women to pay for my schooling, it's just really difficult to find. I don't think I'm opening myself up to these opportunities well enough. I need to start hanging out in different locations. Increase my odds. By all means, if you know any shoot em this way. If they look like Helen Mirren, I'll do it for free....

remember her in Excalibur ?   whoa boy......

anywho, when I was serious with my then serious girlfriend, now wife, I asked myself this question, "Am I more afraid of being with her the rest of my life or NOT being with her the rest of my life?"

for me it was easy, but I got lucky.  She is from Old Greenwich, so I will keep an eye out ;-)

so I saw casino royale.  I had to look up what time period the movie was set because the cell phones were so ancient looking I thought it was set in the 1990's

nope, 2006 movie set in 2006, but the iphone didn't come out until 2007

seems like those things have been around forever
