JerryK
The movie 'Frozen' is a tale of 2 girls who grow up apart. They sing through their challenges. They lose control of their beautiful castle and one of them will die unless she receives 'true love's kiss'. I didn't know any of this going in. My 3 sons are pissed. T0mShane
Just saw Out of the Furnace. Christian Bale wears flannel and drives a pickup truck around a rust-covered town with a neck tat, which indicates that he's earnest white trash. Casey Affleck plays White Trash Guy With PTSD. Woody Harrelson plays Crazy White Trash Ringleader. Their paths collide. Willem Dafoe, Forrest Whittaker, Sam Shepard, and Zoe Saldana cash checks. It's awful poverty porn clearly written by two dudes who have a Hollywood-based idea of what it means to be poor, white working class and live in an industrial town. It's almost offensive in its portrayal of sub-Beverly-Hills America. Bale remains the world's most overrated actor.

C-Mart28
Saw The Wolf of Wall Street last night, its really good but a little on the long side, still might be the funniest movie of the year.
SouthernJet
Saw The Wolf of Wall Street last night, its really good but a little on the long side, still might be the funniest movie of the year. I enjoyed a lot. Dont know if I would say funniest as its main glory. It had funny scenes for sure, but a lot of desperate and sad human drama was thrown in there as well. Great flick, agree with all above, but thought Renner's character was the middle ground morality glue that was binding force for all other charactes. I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who didn't like the film. 3 hours of gratuitous nudity, gratuitous drugs, unrealistic characters, and it's all exposition, i.e. nothing actually happens. There was also no one to like or identify with. That's the difference between this film and something like Breaking Bad, where there's really no good guy. You could still like Walter White, because you could ultimately relate to the idea of doing "anything" for your family. They were all awful and for no good reason in Wolf. I don't know, I found myself looking at the clock on my phone a lot throughout the movie and then in the minority talking about my experience. HessStation
I thought Frozen was a great family movie if your kids are girls. A if you have girls. D if you have boys. The Hobbit DOS was, for me, just as awesome as the first Hobbit and all 3 LOTR. I give every one of them an A. (neeeerd) And Lords of Salem was great imo. Like a solid B. I love Rob Zombie's movies. Not sure why. I thought House of 1000 Corpses was awesome too though. Def not for everyone. It's a good home alone I'm bored flick....doubt the "average" female would like it. Quite demented. Like all his stuff lacks some certain elements in plot to make it really great, it's sort of thin, but the atmosphere he builds is great. Like Twins Peaks meets Rosemary's Baby with something else thing...only not quite as good...but still fun/good.

Can't really blame that on Scorcese, unless of course you think he shouldn't have taken on the project to begin with. He stayed true to Belfort's autobiography and basically all of that stuff happened almost exactly as it was portrayed. I did feel a little dirty buying a movie ticket, however, given that Belfort is throwing the entirety of the money he makes on the movie and his book towards hi debts. (neeeerd) Still don't understand the need for 3 Hobbit movies though. 2 would have been plenty. And as a result the films move wayyyy slower than the LOTR movies. I still <3 Peter Jackson though. Scorcese has a history of expository films in which nothing really changes and they're just a snapshot. Some of them are great because they have characters and stories that can hold it. For me, this one did not. Not sure I buy the veracity of his autobiography either, but that's neither here nor there.
Integrity28
I just read that there are people who hate Man of Steel because Superman killed Zod. What? That movie was really good. Agreed. I thought it was excellent, I really like how they "grew" the concepts around what weakened Superman, and what enabled his powers, beyond what we've always seen from the directly-from-the-comic adaptations. The fight sequences were fantastic also. Most of all, I loved that they didn't crater the whole film on the Lois Lane love bullsh*t. Michael Shannon loses his temper like very few villains... dude is great.

I know someone who knew him back in the day, I won't say it's spot on, or that it's not exaggerated for effect, but it's within the realm of what really went down. Minus some stuff of how he was funded that was left out of both book and movie
