Two Jersey City police officers got stranded Tuesday afternoon when a torrential rain hit the area. NJ.com and Jersey Journal reader Mike Wermann sent us this photo of the two officers sitting on the roof of their cruiser waiting to be "rescued." Lt. Edgar Martinez, the police spokesman, said the police officers were parked there to divert traffic because of flooding in the area when the water rushed into the street "from everywhere." When the cruiser started to fill up with water, the two officers climbed onto the roof and waited for the Emergency Services Unit to get them, Martinez said. Martinez noted that a sergeant, in another vehicle, was at the scene with the two officers and managed to move his SUV out of flooded area. "People wouldn't believe it, but the sergeant was there and saw for himself," Martinez said. "The water came from everywhere and before they knew it the car was stuck." Inappropriate post?
