  1. The key to developing QBs is to keep drafting them until you hit on the total package. Zach’s makeup was more of a flag than his play and he should have been off the Jets board on that alone.
  2. He worked very hard to be 6’7. Gotta hand it to him.
  3. Zach got roasted pretty bad by former QBs. The Mannings, Fitz. I think there was one more, forget who, but he almost had an aneurism when Saleh told Zach to unplug. Maybe Kurt Warner?
  4. We changed coordinators once, because Wilson went to the owner to have him fired.
  5. Does Woody give Zach get a video montage when he returns?
  6. Zach could have went back for his senior year too. He made the decision to go pro.
  7. What didn’t the Jets coaches do? He had his first one fired and the Jets acquiesced and hired his personal coach. They gave him the job without any veterans pushing him. The Jets gave him how much guaranteed? Come on dude. Big boy pants. Is it on the Jets coaches to teach him how to build relationships with teammates? How often he should be at the facility? Once you’re in the pros is mostly on the player.
  8. This is kind of silly. A successful division 1 passer who’s played enough games shouldn’t need his hand held navigating the league. The Jets have for the most part just drafted the wrong player. No one has been ruined. Zach was not prepared to be a pro. The OC they had in place was fine and he had him fired.
  9. There was an accompanying petting zoo in the backyard
  10. Zach could have done a lot more. I think we can recognize both. But the underlying issue was the Jets not recognizing he was not built to move across the country and take the position head on. That being said, his paychecks were clearing and it’s on him to be a grownup and do that job, too. Perhaps the Jets could have set up more guardrails, but if you’re not putting in the effort or building relationships with teammates as the starting QB- ain’t much you can do.
  11. A lot of continued coddling for a professional athlete
  12. I could be wrong but wasn’t everything virtual? There was plenty of digging they could have done with BYU. The family being too much was out there predraft.
  13. Zach should have never been drafted and I think any interviewer worth his salt would have concluded the kid was not ready from maturity standpoint to move across the country and start day 1 in the NFL. Not going away for college and living on your own is a flag in itself. I think Woody wanted him, though regardless
