Insecurity is a hell of a drug my dear.

Nah, I just refuse to be a jinx.   I've noticed that over-confidence usually leads to great disappointment.  So, I try to stay neutral - maybe lean towards the negative a little bit. It has worked six times! ;)

    Hedging

Not hedging.  Pats O-line is sh*t right now. Will be better when Wynn gets back.  Anyway, any given Sunday (or Monday), is true and it is your Super Bowl, so I expect to see a really good game from the Jets and if your efforts result I a win, I expect you to lose the following week, Why?  History.

This season will get real interesting in a hurry. I think they have a shot, hoping for good news on the CJ Mosley front! But the schedule gets easier, they could go a a run. Hopefully that run has already begun.

So if they beat the Pats I think there will be some optimism for the first time in a long time. Let's go Jets!

I can't wait to tailgate on Monday. Going to be a lot of fun.

If the Jets beat the Pats they will lose to Jax.  That's what happens when you play your Super Bowl in October.

The hit Jones made was possibly more flagrant because Allen was wrapped up and going down. Doyle was trying to get up and had not been touched. Granted, Burfict is a dirty player and he nearly ended Antonio Browns career but was Jones even suspended for one game but Burfict  gets the 12 games?

except he wasn't wrapped up or going down.  He was actively trying to get that first down.  There was no intent or malice.

    From the patsfans.com site rules

    2) No one likes a consistently negative person - If all you do is complain, focus on the negative, constantly post critical threads on a certain player or offense/defense, etc. That's not what we're looking for and we will remove you if it continues. It irritates people who are committed to the long-term success of this team and are willing to take an objective big picture look at things as opposed to focusing on a single setback, bad game, etc. I know the term "chicken littles" has been used, but it's really simple - don't be a Negative Nancy. If you're upset, we have a post-game thread to vent and get it out of your system. But take a deep breath and try and move on and don't try and spread negativity. I'm a pretty positive person and don't want to read it, and I know plenty of other people don't enjoy it either. So don't do it.

Think about this--fans of the most successful franchise in the history of sports just can't hear anything negative at all. Seriously? Winning all the time isn't enough? If someone dares to say anything negative--that ruins the experience for you? (Let's put aside what an entitled ingrate you'd have to be to be a negative Pats fan)

Just wait until the run is over and real negativity sets in. They'll be jumping off the bridges in Boston so fast the Charles river will rise two feet. It'll be fun listening to Chuckie from Souffie explain that he has been a Chiefs fan all along because his brother's wife's ex-boyfriend drove a big rig through KC once in 1976.

nice try counselor.  you should give a listen to Boston sports radio,

I just read more about it.  The wife/mom refused to cooperate with NFL investigators so she’s obviously more worried about her meal ticket then she has the safety of her own children.

yup....especially when Tyreek is heard on audio saying "you better be terrified of me too bitch!"  Nothing says gold-digger like a petrified abuse victim.

Here’s an unpopular opinion: if you’ve played in the NFL post-1980 and you spent more than ten years in the league cashing those checks, you have no right to bitch about what happens to your body. It’s like working in a coal mine. You knew the risks, but you opted to do the job to pay your bills. Bruschi has holes drilled into his skull and still came back to play for the cheating-ass Patriots, whom he slurps to this very day. F*ck that guy.

Awe, you're still such a sweetheart.

  8. David Tyree Says Hi..

Wez is a good player but he should have caught that ball, the Great ones don't drop them in the biggest game of their lifes.

He catches that pass and its the Pats that are World Champs.

I'm just glad it was not a Jets Reciever who dropped that ball , I can't imagine the melt down on this site it would be like the China Syndrom.

I can't imagine the meltdown this place would have if the Jets ever got to the Superbowl, nevermind lose one.

Zippy, my football season was extended. Sure, did not end the way I wanted it to, but boy, did they exceed my expectations.

Good luck with that Peanut Butter and Vingear Offense of yours. :)

  9. Welker fits the Pats offense like Peanut butter on chocolate. Wes isn't stupid and neither are the Pats. This buys 'em time to get a longer term deal done.

Meanwhile we have learned that Burress and Holmes fit the Jets system like peanut butter and vinegar. Hopefully Holmes has acquired a taste for that combo. :)

  10. Garb, he's short and white. Case closed.

In that case, Woodhead is God's nephew too.

Actually, I'm not a Woodhead fan AT ALL. Dude's the size of a garden gnome. He sucks at blitz pick up....not his fault....again, he's the size of a garden gnome.

  11. Mankins was worth it, Welker ain't.

The Pats can find two decent defensive starters for that 10 million.

Mankins has actually had a down year. pro-bowl selection aside. Meanwhile Welker is only second is yardage this year.....how boring....

You guys crack me up. It's okay to admit you were wrong ....seriously.

  12. That was definitely a buzzkill in the movie--already knowing that he never wins. It was almost pathetic--at the end of the movie, they close it with some text coming up on the screen, saying "Two years later, the Red Sox would go on to win their first Workd Series since 1918, using the principles that Beane blah blah blah."

    Really?

Money Ball with....money! Sabermetrics + Cash! That explains J.D. Drew, Carl Crawford and John Lacky, I guess. :winking0001:

I'll wait 'till it hits Redbox.

  13. I watched this the other day on this recommendation. I was originally skeptical of watching it, I think because I just really don't like Ben Affleck very much.

After watching it, I still don't like Ben Affleck.

I think the movie would've been much better if he hadn't cast himself as this criminal mastermind with the big heart who gets away in the end - but he's such a morally strong criminal that he doesn't even need to keep the money, which instead gets donated to charity. There was a lot to like about the film. I really liked the supporting cast, I thought the action was really good. But Affleck's character was just total BS. Worst thing about the movie.

I liked The Town. However, being from the area, and having worked in the area where the armored car robbery and chase scene occurred, I can tell you without an ounce of doubt that 1) NO WAY the North End area would have so few people walking around at the time of the robbery. 2) NO WAY did the car chase scene gone down the way they showed. Where the chase was, and where they ended up taking the turn onto the bridge makes no sense.

I actually worked in that area when they were filming. The crew set up shop in a park behind my buidling. I used to walk around at lunch sometimes and see the crews filming and scouting throughtout the North End. It was kind of neat.

I think Renner's performance was brilliant. Between this flick and his performance in the Hurt Locker, well, let's just say the man can act. His performace was superior to Afflecks....and the accent was better too. Suprising how bad Affleck's Boston accent can be since he's from Cambridge.

    My favorite lines:

Doug: "I need your help. I can't tell you what it is, you can never ask me about it later, and we're gonna hurt some people."

Gem: "Whose car are we gonna take?"

    _________

Frawley: "Jesus Chirst, Henry. Oxy, guns? It's like Townie Christmas."

  14. should we start a poll?? :D

Tom Shane is a sneaky "pseudo intellectual who thinks he's better than the rest of us." The rest of them are as subtle as a sledge hammer.

BTW, how can you possible watch anything involving Woody Allen? As far as I am concerned he's an incestuous pedophile. I wouldn't give him a penny of my money.

  15. Every Jets fan favourite Patriot has 80 catches for 787 yards and 7 TD's with 3 games left in the regular season. Can he get to 100 catches and/or 1000 yards?

C'mon man! Child please! He's nothing without Moss stretching the field! Friggin' JAG. Spicoli and Zippy say so. :)

  16. His cuts are not as crisp, he is rounding his routes and failing to get separation.

Not to mention his 4 droppsies so far this year.

This thread cracks me up. It really does. The next Jets loss, the sky will be falling again....or....of course, the refs screwed them. lol!

Check out Patsfans. The sky is falling. You also have the delusional club. Then you have the super negative nellies. Every fan base is the same. The same.

  17. 10 months removed from major ACL knee surgery?

Proof of this is his yak...which is way off this year. Watch him this Sunday night....his lateral moves aren't quite there.

Funny thing that may interest only me.....he kicks lefty.
