JetNation Posted August 22, 2013 Share Posted August 22, 2013 The NY Jets placed fullback Lex Hilliard on reserve/injured (IR) after suffering a season ending injury today. Hilliard started nine games in 2012 but broke his Scapula (shoulder blade) in camp on Tuesday. We have placed Lex Hilliard on Reserve / Injured and have signed WR Marcus Rucker. — New York Jets (@nyjets) August 21, 2013 Resigned by the Jets to a one-year contract in May Hilliard had been sidelined for the team’s first two preseason games. He was battling round seven pick Tommy Bohanon for a roster before the injury. Additionally the Jets signed Marcus Rucker in attempts to keep the competition at the wide receiver position hot through the preseason. The 23 year old Rucker (6’4″, 190 lbs) hopes he can translate some of the success he had in college at Memphis onto an NFL field and the NY Jets are giving him the opportunity to do so.
