JetNation
The Jets are working fast to get the franchise, more specificially the offense, back on track. Late last night came the news that offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was let go resigned. Less than an hour later it was reported that the Jets were bringing in ex-Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano to be the new Offensive Coordinator. The problem with that scenario is that Sparano is a former offensive line coach who doesn’t have extensive play-calling experience. He called plays one season in Dallas and he does fit the mold that Rex Ryan is looking for because he is a run first coach. The Jets have laid the foundation to return to the ground and pound but they still have a huge issue, what to do with Mark Sanchez and the passing game. Enter Todd Haley? Former Chiefs HC Todd Haley visiting Jets today. Jets could team Tony Sparano as OC, Haley as asst HC, to repace Brian Schottenheimer.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 11, 2012 This morning, @ AdamSchefter reported Todd Haley will be interviewing for a Jets' staff position (ast HC/passing gm coordinator) today. #nyj— Manish Mehta(@TheJetsStream) January 11, 2012 Todd Haley has a strong personality and was fired as head coach of the K.C. Chiefs late this season. His value to the Jets would be helping Mark Sanchez and the passing game get on track. This team needs a new offense and a HaleySparano combination would be an excellent fit. Here is a thread from the with more information on Todd Haley. View the full article
