Adding some depth to their stout defensive line, the New York Jets today signed eight-year veteran lineman Kevin Vickerson who spent 2014 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

After being selected in the seventh round of the 2005 draft (216th overall) by the Miami Dolphins, Vickerson spent three seasons in Tennessee with the Titans followed by a four-year stint with the Broncos before spending the 2014 season in Kansas City.

In 86 career games, Vickerson totaled 120 tackles to go along with 6.5 sacks.  Having spent significant time at both defensive end and defensive tackle, the 6′ 4” 295 lb Michigan State product gives defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers a versatile veteran back-up to add to the defensive line mix.

Vickerson’s contract is expected to be of the one-year variety for an unknown dollar amount at this time.
