NY Jets History - Help For a Cancer Survivor

Hey guys -

Before I begin - check out this article on the Jets-Eagles Week 3 matchup I just loaded on my website.

http://www.ckmagicsports.com/jets-history-not-good-vs-eagles/

My name is Mark Kelly and on December 12 it will be 25 years since I was told I had 6 months to live after being diagnosed with cancer.

Thanks to the grace of God, many prayers and a very aggressive protocol I made it through, however, as a result of the treatment I now deal with Crohn's Disease, Lymphedema and Hemochromotosis.

Because of that, I was forced to retire from my job as an ESPN Researcher in 2008. In March I started a website (www.ckmagicsports.com) and podcasts to help me afford preventive therapy to help try and heal the damage done to me from the radiation, chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant. For many years after being forced to retire, I struggled with what I could do to help my wife - who now had all the financial pressure put on her - support our family, because the very little disability gives hardly makes a dent. Along with struggling daily with serious health needs, I also struggled with what I could do to give back and use whatever talents I still had to glorify God, help my wife and I with mounting medical bills and what I could do to heal the damage done to my tissues and organs.

I started doing podcasts to help educate people on sports and sports history, along with sharing my story and hoping to inspire those who are struggling with sickness - especially cancer - to show how important it is to have faith, not give up and not be afraid to ask for support when you need it.

One of the podcasts I did was a 3-part history of the New York Jets. I've attached it below.

PLEASE let me know what you think - and PLEASE follow me on Twitter - I put out many informative, creative notes that will really make you the most intelligent sports fan amongst your peers. Please like me on facebook as well (ckmagicsports). We also started a GOFUNDME page to help with the ridiculous costs of preventive care. So far I've looked into Essential Oils, I see a wellness chiropractor that gives me food in a pill form to help rebuild my tissues and organs that were damaged and I just contacted an acupuncture specialist. If you can donate to my cause - great - but I don't ask lightly. This is not a promotional gig, I'm dealing with life-threatening illnesses that will eventually kill me unless I combat them.

Along with the Jets history podcasts I have done, I do a Weekly Wrap - which is perfect for those who don't have time to follow sports everyday as this gives them a breakdown of the previous week's events combined with great notes, stats and trends that will impress everyone you talk to sports about. I also have interviewed and done podcasts with ESPN's Tim Kurkjian, Chris Broussard, Neil Everett, Mark Simon, and Howie "Stump the" Schwab, along with former University of Illinois great Marcus Liberty and Hall of Fame AP Basketball Writer Jim O'Connell - who had the pleasure of covering the Dream Team back in 1992 and had great stories to share in our podcast. Please check them out.

God Bless everyone and I hope this inspires people that everyone has gifts they can use to help others, give to others and that God has blessed us with the ability to reach people. Never take for granted the health you have or the magnificent beings we are and the unlimited potential we have to make a difference in others lives!
