JetNation
There are reports saying the Jets are bringing back two of their own defensive free agents. Jordan Jenkins and James Burgess both had solid seasons last year and they are both coming back. Jenkins led the team in sacks last season with 8 and James Burgess performed well when he was called up after multiple injuries at linebacker. The #Jets are re-signing OLB Jordan Jenkins on a 1-year deal worth $5M, source said. After a career-high in sacks, he’s back at the table next year. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 23, 2020 Jets bring back ILB James Burgess on a 1-year deal, per @RosenhausSports Another player who benefitted having Gregg Williams around. — Manish Mehta (@MMehtaNYDN) March 23, 2020 Jets OLB Jordan Jenkins racked up 15 sacks in 2018-19. He is a fierce competitor who has started 50 games since being selected in the third round out of Georgia in 2016. The physical Jenkins oftentimes sets the edge for a run defense that finished No. 2 overall (86.9 Yds/G). — Eric Allen (@eallenjets) March 23, 2020 Joe Douglas has been busy in the first week of free agency. He has addressed the offensive line, cornerback and linebacker which were all positions of need. What is next for the team? Where do they stand against the cap?
