Rex Ryan says he’ll tone down trash talk before latest “Ryan Bowl”

Jets coach Rex Ryan surprisingly seemed to tone down the trash talk before his latest AFC Championship loss, a decision that got criticized some. (We don’t believe it makes a difference.)

He’s also going to stay relatively quiet about the 2011 season opener against the Cowboys, and it’s for a reason no one could criticize.

Ryan vowed on Tuesday to treat the latest “Ryan Bowl” against his brother Rob differently because it will be played on the tenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Ryan doesn’t want to disrespect the somber occasion, even if he’s looking forward to the game.

“I feel honored that we’re going to be playing right there in our stadium,” Ryan told reporters Tuesday night via the Newark Star-Ledger. “It’s obviously going to be an emotional night for everybody, not just in New York/New Jersey, but in the whole country.”

The more we think about it, the more we simply can’t believe the NFL would allow this game and the one in Washington D.C. earlier that day to be canceled because of greed.

No one is that short-sighted.
