1. The kids' all right. Rookie DE Muhammad Wilkerson, back in practice after a minor hip injury, enjoyed his best day. That it came in the most physical practice to date probably wasn't a coincidence. The Jets' first-round pick batted down a pass, knifed into the backfield to tackle a runner and was stout at the point of attack. Impressive day for the kid from Temple. Shaun, who?

2. Moving pocket. QB Mark Sanchez showed his mobility, running a couple of bootlegs and throwing outside the pocket on a couple of occasions. He executed a great play-action fake at the goal line, causing the defense to collapse on RB Shonn Greene while he scampered around right end into the end zone. (Where was that in the championship game?) The point is, Sanchez plays on on the move, and they should make that a bigger part of the package.

3. The Plax plan. Despite a sore ankle, WR Plaxico Burress is expected to play a few downs in Monday night's pre-season opener at the Texans. Rex Ryan said he'd like to see his new 6-foot-5 weapon in action, although you can bet he's not going to force the issue. After all, Burress has taken only four team reps in camp. In other words, if you blink on Monday night, you might miss him.
