  1. That's a major issue because even if that is so, look at what happened when Shanahan left for the Niners. That's the problem with hiring these defensive guys and relying on your OC to coach up that side of the ball, if they do a halfway decent job they're getting poached and you're back at square one.
  2. Johnson apparently wants a ridiculous amount of $$$(12-15m AAV)
  3. Commanders want decision making to solely lie with the GM/analytics department, what head coach worth his salt is dealing with that? Quinn is probably the best they can get.
  4. I stated I had no issue with him eschewing a 48 yarder outdoors. A 43-44 yarder, that's one you should be kicking, especially since you kicked at the end of the first half. If you don't trust your K to make a sub 45 yard kick in calm conditions outdoors, that's on you.
  5. Don't envision Johnson coming here. Arthur Smith seems like a hire Woody would make.
  6. I don't have an issue with analytics but you're 100% right. I have a PFF sub and listen to their podcasts, the problem is they're very dogmatic and have no idea how to gauge and quantify the esoteric parts of the game(momentum, being the biggest).
  7. Yeah I really don't have a huge issue with Campbell going for it in any of his spots, it's his logical inconsistency that I have an issue with - makes him feel like a riverboat gambler. If you have a process that you follow and just say this is how we do business, no problem. To me it just makes no sense to kick at 21-7 and not kick at 24-10. If you don't trust your kicker to make a 45 yarder in calm conditions outdoors, that's on you, get a better kicker.
  8. https://nypost.com/2020/04/04/nfl-draft-2020-position-question-surrounds-lineman-tristan-wirfs/ Welp.....
  9. He might struggle with elite NFL pass rushers but most rookie OTs do, so that's not really a demerit. He has the prerequisite wingspan/technique/athletic ability to be a positive pass blocker. I'd be very happy to draft him at 10.
  10. Better run blocker than pass blocker. Projects to be a high end starter, wouldn't be mad at the pick.
  11. Strawman. Campbell's philosophy is that he wants to be aggressive and play for TDs not FGs, not that he has a bad kicker that he doesn't trust. 'Race to 30', that's what Campbell said. Why are you kicking a FG at that spot? Either be conservative or aggressive. He got super conservative at the end of the first half, then very aggressive the rest of the game. If he went for it every time, you'll get no complaint from me(aside from using that TO, that was braindead).
  12. Why did he kick the FG from the 3 yard line at the end of the first half? That also went against what got him there.
  13. Campbell had an awful game, simply because he wasn't consistent with his logic. He's played like this all year but why would you go conservative to kick a FG up 21-7 with the ball at 3 yard line? Clearly you value going up 3 scores. If you kick that ball at 21-7, you gotta kick a 43 yarder up 24-10 to go to 27-10. The second kick down 27-24 I would've kicked but I have less an issue with. A 48 yarder outdoors, not an easy kick. The most egregious gaffe was calling the TO down 10 driving to score with a minute left to play after calling a running play. That was one of the worst coaching decisions of the year and probably the past 20 years. You CANNOT call a timeout in that situation and rely on a 5% play(onside kick). Awful and immediately ended the game. Idiotic and indefensible.
