JetNation
On Tuesday the New York Jets and linebacker David Harris agreed to a 4-year, $36 million dollar contract extension, with a reported $29.5 million dollars in guaranteed money. The extension will reportedly bring Harris’ cap number down to approximately $4 million dollars in 2011, providing Gang Green with about $6 million dollars in additional cap space (Harris was franchise tagged). This is a smart move by the Jets because not only does it lock up one of the best inside linebackers in the NFL, but it also provides the team some cap room. It will be interesting to see how the Jets use the additional cap space. Pass rusher? Another wide receiver? Tight end? Stay tuned Jets fans, you just know general manager Mike Tannenbaum has something up his sleeve. Add your thoughts about the Harris signing. View the full article
