Jets-Giants Lawsuit Premature According To Judge

The Jets-Giants lawsuit versus the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and Triple Five Group, developer of the proposed American Dream complex near MetLife Stadium was partially dismissed yesterday as Superior Court Judge Peter Doyne ruled that the lawsuit was premature as the NJSEA had yet to approve of the final project.

The original retail and entertainment complex, named Xanadu, was to encompass approximately 4.8 million square feet. Financial problems halted work in 2009, and last year Triple Five and the sports authority announced a plan to build the American Dream complex, which would eventually be the largest mall in the world at 7.5 million square feet.

Because the case wasn’t fully dismissed, the teams are allowed to file suit again once an agreement is reached between the NJSEA and Triple Five if they don’t have the teams’ consent. The Triple Five Group has stated they are looking forward to working with the teams in order to get their consent for the project.
