feelthepain Posted March 24, 2006 Share Posted March 24, 2006 [KFFL] ESPN's Len Pasquarelli reports the Dolphins have signed free agent FB Fred Beasley to a one-year contract. The 180th overall pick in the 1998 draft, the 6-0, 246-pounder had spent his previous 8 NFL seasons with the 49ers. Once considered the league's best fullback, Beasley reached the Pro Bowl in 2003 and was named All-Pro in 2002 and 2003. In 2005, Beasley clashed with coaches in San Francisco and was benched in favor of veteran Chris Hetherington. The addition of Beasley, 31, gives the Dolphins a potentially complete fullback capable making a difference in short yardage situations. Together with tailback Ronnie Brown, the Dolphins will likely field an all-Auburn starting backfield. Very good addition for the Fins, we have one solid backfield.
