The second place gy was renney with 8.6%. Thats a pretty good margin for nolan. Do you guys think Nolan is the best present NY coach? my answer YES! toon88 Posted December 27, 2007 Share Posted December 27, 2007 Coughlin has to be on the top of the list, has taken his team to the playoffs 3 straight years. all other NY area coaches either suck or haven't proven enough yet. Our scoring drought is over. 11 goals in our last 3 games pittsburgh(4) Washington(3),and Toronto(4) so 2 of our last 3 have been 4 goal games. With a final average of 3.6 goals in our last 3 games. Not too bad,and our big guys are starting to wake up,and realizing they have to score goals. Comrie with 2 last night,and Guerin is on a 2 game goal streak. Also our young guns are producing to. Comeau,Hilbert,park. Theyve been a big part to our scoring too ecspecially Park because Park is our bes PK guy,and he gets it done scoring,and gets the assist. 3 assist last night,the GW assist also last night,and a beautiful OT winner against washington. How could you say were not scoring when you guys have 4 goals in your last three and being shutout badly in one of those. You guys have 12 goals in your last 6. we have 11 in our last 3,and 12 in our last four. Do the math our offense is doing better than your offense right now. Brodeur has carried you guys in your last couple of games. we'll see on saturday who scores the most. Remember its gonna be the 4th game we've played and you guys cant score on DP,and you cant beat us. In the three games weve played you guys have 4 goals,and in one of those games DP shut you guys out. Dp may not be playing on saturday with a sprained knee being day-day,but we'll get to face a tired brodeur who will be playing the night before,and if DP plays he'll have 3 days of rest while marty will have none. toon88 Posted December 27, 2007 Share Posted December 27, 2007 devils always have and always will be a defensive minded team. so they will always be in the bottom half of the league in goals scored, and in the top 3 of goals allowed. who gives a sh!t who is averaging more goals in the past 3 games? if the Devils win 1-0 in Calgary, and Isles win 4-3 against Pitt, guess how many points each team gets? 2! The Isles aren't built to win games 2-1, 2-0, the Devils are. That is why the Isles need to score more goals in the 2nd half of the season to stay in the playoff hunt. Saturday means zero to me, as a matter of fact 90% of the regular season means zero. The Devils will be there, AGAIN. Hockey is a post season sport...just make sure your team gets there! When they come alive in a game its 90% of the time in the last half of the third period. Up until the washington game we never scored in the first because we dont take chances. The isles showed a different team last night,because all of their goals were off rebounds or a mess in front. They attacked the net every shot last night something they never do because they trust DP,so they play defensively and then they stirke you offensively in the third period. The islanders are the best third period team in the NHL. Whenever they have some sort of a lead in the third period they always win whether they end up winning in OT or they play great defense in the third to hold the other team,or they score in the Last seconds in the third. They have never lost when winning in the third period . Last night the islanders took chances by throwing prayer shots and hoping the team puts in off the rebound,and they did. They threw the puck in the middle they crashed the net and they put it in. If they play like that they'll score 4 goals a game,but when they play defensively like they usaully do 80% of the time they score 2 goals a game. Personally I like the crashing the net isladers,but we still win games with our defense,and the D knows if they make a mistake they have a great goaltender who will bail them out every once in a while.
