Lil Bit Special
http://www.denverpost.com/rockies/ci_9589508 CHICAGO — With relievers Billy Wagner and Aaron Heilman struggling, the Mets have expressed interest in Rockies closer Brian Fuentes, according to two Major League Baseball sources. The Mets approached the Rockies last winter about acquiring Fuentes, offering up Heilman. The Rockies declined, electing to pay Fuentes $5 million as a setup man. It proved a wise investment when closer Manuel Corpas was demoted in April. The Red Sox and Yankees have expressed varying degrees of interest in Fuentes over the past year. Fuentes, 1-2 with 2.28 ERA and 10 saves, will be a free agent at season's end, increasing the likelihood that he will be dealt if the Rockies aren't in contention.
