Patriots bring back CB Jason Webster

At a time when folks are wondering whether the New England Patriots might be in the market for cornerback DeAngelo Hall, the Pats have re-signed a defensive back whom they cut before the start of the season.

The team has announced the return of cornerback Jason Webster.

The eight-year veteran has played for the 49ers, Falcons, and Bills. He signed with the Patriots on March 3, but was cut on August 26.

Wesbter fills a roster spot vacated when rookie linebacker Shawn Crable was placed on injured reserve. Crable, a third-round pick in the 2008, was inactive for each of the team
